Anyone using cross bows during the gun season? If so how are you doing?

The best way to get a bear is in the early bear season in the ADK. Moose River Plains is a good area, not many harvested there this year because of the amount of availability of food.

The deer are there but like everyone says they are not moving until night. I found two fresh scrapes this morning, and had 2-does and a small 8-point standing on the ATV trail as I left the woods last night.

Ditto on all of the above, at age 69 I still hunt and fish everyday that I can, even though I still work full time. I tried the retirement thing in 2005, that lasted about 3-weeks, (lucky me the owner of the private company that I have worked at for the last 45-years is my age, and welcomed me back with open arms.) My motives are different now then they used to be. I get more satisfaction out of watching the sun rise on a cold morning, and hunting with my grandson, and son. Last year the three of us all had our deer before 9:00 AM. I do use an ATV and ground blind, the area that we hunt in is two miles from the main road. I now realize that the hunt is much more important then the harvest of an animal.

I came to the conclusion long ago that your best approach is to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

If you go meddling in other people's affairs ( pun intended) you will probably not affect the eventual outcome, and you will nearly always end up losing a friend.

I agree with you, it seems that when ever you get involved in this kind of problem you become the loser in the end.

Thanks all, I bought the Primos Tri Pod. It looks like it will work well the head can swivel and by pulling the trigger it will raise and lower, and self adjust. It is a little heavy, but will work well in my tent blind.
