After passing young bucks for years we have a mature animal on the farm. Here he is in a turnip plot with a ground blind 30 yds from him.

Got these deep in the Siamese pond wilderness area state land. These deer probably never see a human. Thoughts?

Is this buck the same one 2 weeks ago,same spot. Im thinking no 2 good ones using the same trail.

Just finished cleaning up 20" of new snow on a property I look after when on the way out of the long driveway I find this next to the mail box.Almost ran it over.I can see where he walked last night out of the deep snow and traveled the town road to the driveway.This ones fresh. All those years of beaten the bush and long walks coming up empty and then this happens. This was one of our bigger deer,my biggest shed to date.Have to look for its match when the snow goes down.

Got my first bobcat along with a couple healthy dogs.Must be hungry too because the flash kept one around for 2nd and 3rd poses.

There both natural scrapes. Have an update on buck in the first two photos. My cousin took him tonight about 200 yds from the scrape. Im curious to see if he worked the scrape with the camera before he took a bullet.

Im confident of the numbers because their all coming from behind me in the morning and traveling past me to bed in the thickets. Im watching a large area 300 yds to the south and 500 yds to the north. Mostly vacant farmland . There is an orchard behind me where they come from in the morning. They finally decided to invest in high fence. Im wondering what that will do to there pattern.

First two mornings of season and I saw around 40 to 45 different deer on stand each morning. The property has always held alot of deer but Ive never seen these numbers. Do you think the mild winter added that many. And there I am with one doe tag, 4t. The eastern part of columbia county was cut off completely with doe tags.

A couple of the good bucks working scrapes. Neither have been taken early into the season.

I hunt Speculator for a week every year. We drive in 6 miles on a seasonal road and stay in a canvas tent for a week. Deer numbers seem down. This year the 3 of us spent each 30 to 40 hrs in the woods . Saw 4 one small buck was passed up.

This deer could develop into real good deer in 1 or 2 years. Im gonna pass on this one. I think he's 2 1/2.

He's come down this trail twice in a week. One of my stands is within 20 yds of him. Whats his age,3year old?

I new this would cause some cntroversy. The photo was sent to me this summer and I cant verify if its real. I dont post much but am an active viewer. However my deceased uncle, who hunted his whole lfe, swore he saw 2 cats with long tails in just the last 10 years here in Columbia County. I'll have to ask more questions on the sources of the photo. I still think these cats are here!

MY cousin forward this to me the other day on a farm in Hllsdale. I have relatives who saw multiple sightings in this county in the last ten years. How big do you think this cat is?

Had a camera by one of my stands. This guy came through 10 yds from my stand. Hope I see him tommorrow.

I'm going up for my annual week long hunt on state land in a tent in the CIscoe creek . Anyone ever done any hunting in their. Its a 6 mile drive from town on a seasonal rd to the state land.

We got this 9 pt on our property in columbia county. WHat do you think his age is? Let them go so they will grow is our theme. See the results. tThis is the 3rd shooter we have. Our best year.

Here are 2 10 pts running on my hunting ground in Columbia county.The more typical .10 is one we new was there from last year. The palmated 10pt is a buck we were unaware of. I always say give him one more year but usually we dont see them anyway.
