    I just found a tick on my hat and now I feel like their crawling all over me.

    There were a lot of shots yesterday morning in 8F. I counted at least 25 before 9, then it died out. Only a few for the rest of the day. I skipped this morning because of the wind direction. It's supposed to change overnight and i have all week to get it done. I'm in a different stand now until dark.

    I was in my stand by 6. At 7 I get a message from my brother in law that the neighbors are trespassing and started an argument. I get get down, go educate them on the property lines and climb back up at 8:15. Big thanks to the a$$holes who ruined opening morning.

    Finished up in NM a day early and caught a late flight back to ROC last night. I was not looking forward to getting back on Friday night @ midnight just to get up @ 4am for the opener. Getting final preparations complete now and ready to hit the woods in the AM!! I hung a new stand last Friday and cleared a few lanes on a new area with some really good sign. I'm hoping it pays off. I am pumped!! Cold temps, good wind!! Let's get it done tomorrow!!

    Memo: From the unofficial captain of "Group 1" Well my archery season is officially over. Heading to New Mexico in the morning for work and I don't get back until midnight on Friday. I didn't see much from the bow stands this year but I'm still pretty excited about the start of gun season. Activity on the back side of my property looks good and I have left it alone with the exception of hanging a stand and a few scouting walks. Good luck to everyone trying to get it done this week. I'll be rooting for ya from out west.

    Took the morning to move a stand and setup a ground blind for my brother in law on the back side of my property. Ended up getting the 4 wheeler stuck in a water hole up to the seat. Had to go swimming to get the trailer off and get it out, but the blind is in and the stand is up. Ready for next Saturday.

    Cabin, I read a report from Cornell that said as the wind increases so does deer movement. Hang in there tonight could be your night.

    3rd doe of the morning just passed by at about 50 yards. They seem to be moving in 8F. No bucks yet just doe.

    Finally saw deer while I was in a stand. Had a doe and fawn come through and circle the stand at about 15 yards. I must be getting soft in my old age because I let her pass. But I definitely considered letting one fly.

    Took a walk after an unproductive sit. Bumped 2 big doe, first deer I've seen this year. Found a scrape line with 4 or 5 good scrapes. Time to break out the climber.
