Submitted photo Anthony "Tony" Bottar, of North Syracuse, shot this 16- point atypical buck on Sunday morning November 18th. It weighed 205 dressed and had an estimated score of 175. A state biologist aged the deer at 4 1/2 years. His buddy, I. Michael Vela wrote: "Tony, a previously avid hunter, had taken a long break from the sport and at the nagging of friends and family, decided to try it again. He was hunting with a friend in Conquest, NY on a early morning hunt. The friend placed him in his "magic" stand, gave him his favorite rifle hoping that he would score a nice one and be enthusiastically back in the sport. "Well, as it worked out he shot the deer at less than 30 yards in less than 20 minutes. Anthony shot his last deer 22 years ago. "He's back."
