Ridge top or meadow

I'm debating if I should try in the woods on top of the ridge or back in the meadow where I killed my big boy last year. Where are birds more active in the morning ?

In my experiences birds seem to like to roost up high and head downhill after fly down. Keep that in mind

I would say hit the ridge/woods at first, thats assuming you're heading out at first light.

Hit the meadow first. They'll return to the ridge later in the morn when the sun gets hot so they can hang in the shade. Hens tend to visit the roosting area to see who else is hanging their as well periodically throughout the day and the long beards know that so he makes his rounds their as well
