He caught it on a Mepps spinner.

Jack Joyner, of Williamstown, holds up a nice 18-inch brown trout he caught recently on the East Branch of the Salmon River in Redfield.

His fishing buddy, Kenn Pickard, of North Syracuse, took the photo.

By the way, I love the toothpick in his mouth. Maybe I should try that next time I'm fishing.
