Sean Burke, of Geddes, poses with a nice-sized, doe he shot with his bow on opening day of the bowhunting season for deer Tuesday.

"I'm 6 foot, 5 inches for a size reference," he said.

He arrowed the deer a short time before dark and recovered it after the sun set.

"It was taken on my buddy's land," he said. "His 9-year-old daughter, Gia, took the lead on the blood trail tracking the deer."
