Christopher Adessa, of Union Springs, harvested two does on the opening day of bowhunting season Tuesday.

I had a great opening day. I took the day off," he said.

The first one was shot in Scipio from 8 yards away at 7:25 a.m The second was taken on land in Owasco from about 18 yards away at 5 p.m.

"Each dressed out at about 110 pounds each according to the butcher," he said.

He concluded: "I'm a little sore, but my lifetime bow kills almost doubled in one day. From 3 to 5."
