I spent a morning with week with David LeClair, an ace fly rod maker in Elbridge. LeClair specializes in making bamboo rods from scratch, but he also does repair work on all types of fly rods (bamboo, Fiberglass, graphite).

Seeing that I got two graphite blanks for a rod for Christmas from a close friend, I asked him to go over the specifics of what I (or any other beginner) need to know when it comes to making a rod.
