Matt Wallace wrote me this weekend that he had "a great morning in the field chasing cottontails in Fenner."

He wrote: "We had four hunters: myself, my dad Dave Wallace, my neighbor Jeriah Kline, and friend Marty Amidon who brought along our fifth hunter "Honey" the beagle who is a better hunter than all of us combined.

"She worked her tail off on multiple bunnies and by the end of the morning we had bagged four rabbits. Everyone got one.

"I'm planning on doing a buttermilk fried rabbit recipe from Hank Shaw's new book, " Hunt, Gather, Cook." By the way if you aren't familiar with his web site check it out, its got some excellent wild game recipes.
