  1. Antler restrictions are a must most of the gun hunters that claim there meat hunters dont even bow hunt or they never tag the damn things anyway.and ive never seen a huge ass mature 4 pt in all 27 years of deer huntin
  2. If she had a broken neck u slice her throat and leave her there u never let a wounded deer just lay there suffering whats it take to just put her out what if u were drivin down the road and saw a wounded deer that got whit by a car rollin on the ground u would't put it down who cares about the tag its the corect thing to do
  3. read deer and deer hunting mag and simply spend some more time out from under your rock in other states talking pros and cons to other field expierianced hunters and law enforcment
  4. States that have just past the cross bow laws have seen a increase in deer drives with large gang preasure durring archery season this is no good a bunch of wounded deer with bolts hanging out of thier hinds.
  5. Hey mouth if you read correctly it says "below you" which means elevated from a tree stand or perch from above on the edge of a field or hedgerow.as far as success goes i hunt states in the north east with unlimited tags and kill more deer in one year than you probably did your entire life i hunt and harvest from early sep. to late feb. you probably hunt 6 weekends out of the year. pics to follow.
  6. You may not shoot after dark but it will open the door for any one else who wants to. its too tempting.
  7. I guess before you draw your bow you must wait till all 10 deer under you look away or stick their heads behind a tree in the middle of a field , or maybee you can hold out till after dark and stiil see throu the 9x40 scope you have just like a rifle just no after dark boom. Listen hands down there is no comparison between traditional archery with cedar arrows or even modern compound ,to a cross bow locked and loaded with scope and shooting sticks.let me ask you if you were hunting deer with a pump shotgun in a tree stand would you chamber a round or keep them in the magazine and rack in a round when the deer has his head behind a tree , its the same thing.cross bow locked and loaded just pull the trigger
  8. well one thing you may have forgot, is the fact that after you raise the crossbow to shoot you DON'T have to make the huge movement to pull it back , or is my anchor point correct on a dificult hang out of the stand shot and most have a scope with cross hare out to 45 yards , no guess work there , or how about the low lite factor with high power scope . there is no equal here . hands down it does not take the same woodsman ship. i have been bow hunting since 1985 and the cross bow thing is bs. if you want to hunt with across bow then do it durring rifle season.
  9. cross bows with scopes just give outlaws more reason to stay in the stand and shoot deer after hours out of the tree stand or the back of the truck ,but i do think that people over 50 or people with health problems should be ok. if you are healthy and cant shoot a bow the you dont bow hunt this season gives us bowhunters some qiet time . it will just be like rifle season for 2 months say good by to early season no preasure. jr hunters should not be able to use cross bows it will not teach them the same skills to be a better shot or real hunter this is the problem ,we are always making it easier for the youth of tommorow ,this is our problem. my son had to kill 2 deer with his bow before i let him hunt with a gun. and he did it his 2nd year at age 11
  10. you never know you may just get lucky. After 3 years using this gun for deer hunting i had the gun miss fire 4 times last year was the last time on a huge buck after stalking and crawling througth the swamp and then CLICK..... if the rolling bolt gets jarred even a 1/8 inch back and you dont relize it the gun will not fire. its a good duck gun but not a brush gun .
  11. does anyone have anything to say about the 3.5" browning maxis shotgun i am thinking about buying one and throwing my bennelli super black eagle II in the garbage.
