  1. I always hang my stands backwards, even when I have evergreens all around me. Hides my movement real well, I can do a jig in my stand and not be noticed. Other than that there is a kit that you can attach fake branches to the bottom of the platform or do a DIY version bt putting some pvc with some drilled holes and use real branches. You need to cut the branches when leaves are still on them and they will stay on fot quite a while.

  2. So after many, many months of roto cuff rehab I finally started shooting and went hunting on the 11th. I took my Elite Pure which was put together and sat on my bench for months never had being shot. Two weeks before I went hunting I picked it up and shot two dozen arrows , adjusting sights, and finding a good broadhead that shot well, I did not even put a peep sight on it yet.

On the morning of the hunt I woke to a flat tire, was gonna pack it in but what tha heck I was already up so I fired up the NOISY compressor at 5:00AM, pumped it up and off I went.

I hunted two hours and was about to get down to get the tire fixed when I turned my can call a couple times, started to grab my haul line when I saw this fella trot in to 10yrds broadside, I had to wait for him to get a little farther away and let my G5 Stryker fly, it passed through and sliced the heart along the way.

I shot this guy in NJ.

  3. I buy Axis shafts and fletch them myself, I mostly buy them on AT when I see them cheap and I never wait till I'm out. I recently bought some Black Eagle Rampage .001 shafts for 70 bucks doz and really like them alot so I shoot them out of my Elite Pure.

  4. What lowlifes', they will get caught, unless the piece of crap told no one and already disposed of the head fearing capture because of the attention. They usually open their mouths at some point, usually after a few drinks.

  5. How many of you guy's have deer camps that are that filthy, really does not help a hunters image in my view. I hunt suburbs in NJ and the show depicts real situations but why do hunters have to look like slobs? Reality is some are, but to focus on it is not necessary. I will watch it again and it is entertaining... slightly, but probably because I sometimes hunt suburbia as they do.

  6. Got my bow, I got a 2012 Pure all black like new, used from AT, I'm in the process of pimping/customizing it now. I first changed the mods to match my DL. So here goes...

    Custom Strings from Twisted Archer.

    SS1 Stokerized stabilizer

    QAD HDX rest

CBE 2013 Cerekote Tek Hybrid sight

    Trophy Ridge Torsion quiver

    '09 Bowtech cable slide

    Versa Peep

    Back Eagle Rampage Arrows

    Gold Tip Accu-Tough inserts

    Hardcore Maxx release

Solid Broadhead Co, Deep Six broadheads

I will post some pics when I have it all together, waiting for the strings now. Most items were bought off AT classifieds with deep discounted prices, some things are used but I saved a fortune.

  7. Welcome Jason, I too was born and grew up in the city, i was self taught but with the internet you will have a much shorter learning curve. There are a couple of plces to take the test, one is proline archery on 101 ave in Queens. The best thing to do is spend time in the woods, as much as you can, even just hiking. You need to feel comfortable being out there and reading the sign because it's out there.

  8. There is a county park near my house that you can hunt by permit, there are hikers, joggers and bicycle riders using the park all year long. When I hike in to hunt and stay on the trails the deer will watch me pass... but step off the trail and into the woods and it's game over. They have gotten used to people staying on the trail and will stay put even within feet of a passing jogger, just don't set one foot off the trail. Stands must be at least 50ft off the trail and elevated hunting only.

  9. Archerytalk has some good deals and good people on there. If you want to try a sweet shooter for hunting and shooting all summer try Elite Archery, there is also an elite forum with good deals on a quality bow you will have for years to come. I hold on to my bows for 10 years because I buy quality, top of the line bows and take care of them, keep my strings waxed, but buy new strings when needed. You can buy a used top of the line bow and will be fine.

  10. Years ago I was going to buy a house on 100 acres of land that was in foreclosure, but what stopped me was the neighbor across the street on the backside of the property. He had a quad trail running right onto the foreclosure from his 1/4 acre and then all over the place, I just knew he was going to be trouble and fiqured it was not worth it. You bust your ass working to be able to but some land and then some D-Bag thinks it's his to run all over because " hell I've been hunting this land for years".
