can't wait to give a shot -
Anyone own a Coleman Ram-x Crawdad boat. I just got one and I haven't used it yet. Looking for photo's that show enhancements.

I seem to be gaining an interest in frog hunting. Has anyone ever tried it? Looks interesting. Any tips. I have a boat but not one that is probably suitable for hanging over the edge to catch by hand of spear. I guess using a bow would be one way to practice my shooting ability. Season opens June 15.

This website offers alot of information pertaining to the Lower Esopus Creek. Not all dedicated to just fishing but it does offer some generic fishing information. In the Esopus Fly over link. Is a helicopter journey of the creek from Saugerties to the Ashokan Basin. The Watershed booklet (lower left corner) gives a bit of a history lesson of the creek. Interestering at best. http://www.loweresopus.org

Below was posted from the home page: We connect forest users to the knowledge and resources needed to ensure sustainable production and ecological function on private forest lands. http://www2.dnr.corn...nect/index.html Probably going to take a couple of days to go through all the material. When your done with that site. Check this one out. http://nyfoa.org/index.php

Esopus Creek Trout Study being released
NY Region 3 Trapper replied to NY Region 3 Trapper's topic in Region 3
Good question. Not sure. I would imagine there will be some loss, enough to make this season a dud, probably not. I'll be more worried about stepping into a hole that wasn't there prior to the flood. Time will tell. -
i'm in the southern part of schoharie county - I pruned the tree's mid March last year - kind of hard to tell if what i did worked but they had apples - at best I didn't kill 'em

Anyone planning on doing work improving your Wild Apple Trees this spring. Did some cutting of the excess branches last year. Saw some improvement this fall. But more work is needed. Anyone using fertilzer sticks at the base? Any success. I found one good standing tree in a "field" of mine but it has alot of invasive brush and tree's growing through it. Which I plan on removing in March. I can't seem to find another one in the immediate area. Shouldn't there be more to promote growth? PS.These tree's are so amazing. Practically dead and on the ground yet still producing apples.

I hear ya . been fishing it for about ten years. I see the changes. Speaking of tubers I usually fish below Phoenicia. Decided to go above to escape them. I find a nice spot, everythings going good. Lost one in deep pool. I'm about to do the I'm an ass for losing it dance and I hear a bunch of people coming my way its tubers. About 15 of them. they go through most went around me but there's always one moron who can't steer and I had to push him off. I gave up and went home. -
Thought maybe someone would be interested in attending this event. It's about the effect of the water releases from the Shandaken Tunnel into the Esopus. http://www.dailyfree...cb969987980.txt

You may want to check out this web page being offered by the WildLife Research Foundation out of Maine. They are showing a live feed of a bear named Lugnut who just had two cubs a couple of weeks ago. www.wildliferesearchfoundation.org In the video library they have some interesting videos of this bear and other ones.

Just wondering what time frame do the antlers start to fall off. With such a lite snow fall so far. Thinking I might want to start shed hunting?

Stewart State Land A Total Bust For Bunnies
NY Region 3 Trapper replied to 13BVET's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Never thought I would see such a thread on the topic of going after squirrels in an organized fashion. Kind of sounds interesting. I live not that far away. Have to check my schedule. With so many people I'm wondering how many can be bagged after the first shot though. Any confirmation if this is going to be done. Never hunted the property. More interested in Coyotes. Seems to be alot of open fields scenerios. -
I see on the shows them using some kind of powder. What could it be that doesn't have any smell yet still be effective. Any other idea's. Don't know why I'm even asking. It seems when I find a spot with the wind in my face once I sit it changes on me. Very aggravating.

Pop up blind during snow storm
NY Region 3 Trapper replied to NY Region 3 Trapper's topic in Bow Hunting
I use the Ameristep® G2 Ground Blind is currently on sale in gander for 49.99. Probably not the best but its cheap and gets the job done. Takes a bit to master the take down procedure but its amazing how easy it is once you do it.
