  2. I'm glad my reps vote no. Feel bad for all those who's reps vote yes. Of course most if not all are democrats voting yes. Sometimes I wish NYC was its own state. It's passed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm sure it will. The dems need to show the next president allegiance. Watching this on tv is horrible. What time is the vote? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I went to ruger.com filled out my personal information which sent letters to all politicians from state, federal, VP and President. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Can an Atv (500) pull it. Concerned about the weight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'm interested. Got to check the schedule. We talking day or night hunting or a combo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I know if I owned something that nice I would leave it home but if your going afield or its in your center console and you encounter law enforcement. I would suggest you explain what it is real quick. Reason being a lot of things can be made to shoot a projectile you would be surprised. Great craftsmanship. .
  8. Sterling Forest State Park requires a Predator permit, then you call during park business hours each time your going out and tell them where you'll be hunting plus vehicle info. If there not in I believe you would have call the Palisades State Park Police (Bear Mtn) who has primary jurisdiction over park property. The permit is free by the way provided you pay for the regular permit.
  9. Did some squirrel hunting in Sterling Forest this past Wednesday, saw Coyote sign (tracks, scat, & scrapes along an old road). I kicked one out of a swampy area. I go back on Friday during the day and use my new e caller. Nothing comes in, I move around that general area, still nothing. I go to a whole different area. Found fresh tracks, I setup. Everything all quiet. I start calling. The local water company starts cutting trees. So I have two chainsaws going. Gave up in disgust. Stopped by the Visitors Center and got my Predator permit for night hunting. Wasn't able to hunt that night but drove thru the area and saw a nice big red fox crossing the road. Mother Nature then decides to leave snow on Saturday and high winds today. Anyone planning on hunting coyotes in Sterling Forest PM me, we might be able to connect.
  10. I have been in the woods for eight days since opening day and only saw one small racked buck and no does. Very frustrating. This past weekend put snow on the ground and I only found one track. The deer seem to have “disappeared". Three weekends left. Maybe I should move to 4G.
  11. Anyone have any opinions on the Terramar thermal underwear being sold at Gander Mtn? Picked up the 3.0 rating ones today. Getting second thoughts on them but I couldn't find any duofolds.
  12. Please do. It's interesting to see how others have there blinds set up.
  13. Shot a few deer from this rock wall blind. Gives me some foot room with a little storage area in the back to keep my chair out of the elements when not hunting. The mice do a number on the chair material but it beats carrying it around.
  14. How about posting any of your GROUND blind set ups. Would love to see how others set up their blinds. Wether it be simple to the complex.
  15. Came across this contest. Figured I would share it despite the deadline being October 20 2012.
  16. Yeah I can see how some would feel killing an animal then just throwing it away might be offensive. Look at it this way. To many of one animal could lead to other variables like distemper, rabies, mange, etc. A skunk in a trap that sprays will attract other predators. In the area that I hunt any legal game is fair game wether I plan on using it or not. This philosophy may help a clutch of eggs make it through its journey. Furthering the cycle of life for another species.
  17. Are you able to hunt off of the Appalachian Trail corridor? I don't nor wouldn't hunt literally on the trail but the lands owned by the National Park Service that create the easement.
  18. Unless you harvest Boo Boo I can't imagine your dragging any bear. I would check with the park office staff. They have established pick up points through out the park for deer. Which may include bear. (845) 351-5907.
  19. You may want to do some pre-scouting. The chances of walking into Sterling Forest State Park and finding a bear is about one in a million. Way to much property to roam free looking. You'll end up lost. Trust me. As far as walking. As slow as possible and when you think your walking slow enough. Slow down more. Good Luck.
  20. If I'm not working I would go. Depends on the date though. Single shot .410 is what I would use. Probably bring my 15 year old also.
  21. I guess they are a smart destructive bird. Can't wait to go. Thanks for all the info.
