  1. What kind of batteries are used to run the sensors? How long do they last?
  2. Well they do compensate for their losses. So keep doing what your doing.
  3. It was nice to the Greenwood Lake Merchants Guild promoting the lake. I know alot of money is going in to improving the water quality especially in the northern arms. An aeration project, retro fitted storm basins, mandatory septic clean out every three years. Hopefully, the bad rap will fade and the fishing successes increase.
  4. Not sure how long this ability has been out there but are you one the list? http://www.paladium....t2010Jun_01.php Note: The lookup function is at the bottom of the page.
  5. Ended up getting the Wel Built 12 ton 208cc splitter. Light enough to move around by hand and can be towed by my ATV. Can't wait to start using it. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200513174_200513174 Fantail - checked out your review. Thanks.
  6. Is anyone using an electric log spitter? I was thinking about picking one up. I don't split a lot of wood but I have some that the ol' back won't allow splitting by hand anymore. I see that they are low to the ground but I think I could compensate for that. Main concern is longevity and cutting ability.
  7. So cool. You have to approach the area to shoot or just get outside the house enough to seal the deal?
  8. That's so cool. Kind of what this forum is all about. Good Luck. Keep us posted on your success.
  9. Please visit her site and sign her petition to repeal the NY "Safe" act. http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/Annie-Rabbitt/story/50484
  10. Went with the Eskimo Shark z51. The price and availability fit my budget($299). Can't wait to tear open some holes. I looked at the propane ones but they were to expensive.
  11. I have an 8 inch hand auger. I cut a few holes this weekend and I just can't cut the way I used to. Power seems the only way.
  12. Any opinions on power augers if you were in the market for one. Northern Tools got one for 300 hundred. It's an eight inch 43cc made by Mako.
  13. Went out today for some calling. Woods very quiet except for a squirrel that wouldn't leave me alone. Minimal wind which was a welcome change. Felt like a heat wave when it hit 20 degrees. No yotes though.
  14. Thanks. Just checked it out. Seems interesting enough to look into it. Just thinking how to make the notification aspect of this technology work for deer hunting considering how many times I tend to snooze in the deer blind.
  15. Anyone see the North Woods Law show on Animal Planet a reality show of the Maine game wardens? The game warden was staking out Coyote hunters that would hunt over bait piles, while sitting in a constructed blind. The hunters installed two motion sensors on stakes that would trigger their cell phones to vibrate when a coyote would walk thru. I wonder how effective that would be? Nothing comes to mind that would prevent that technique being used in NY. Have to check the NY Guide.
  16. Kudos to the Town of Deerpark, a town in western Orange County, who rejects the NY Safe Act by resolution. We need more town/villages/counties to reject this insanity that will cost from what I'm hearing 35 million to administer it. http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130123/NEWS/301230343
  17. Any small lakes or ponds that have decent ice that could be ice fished this weekend? Looking for a place to go around lower schoharie county (middleburgh-cobbleskill area).
  18. Better hold onto your hats today. Pretty windy out there.
