  3. How is Hunting that watershed land? I also have that Dep permit. I'm looking forward to hunt in suffolk as well just recently received my Dec permit to access the land. To quote my Bow Hunting instructor "There are big bucks on Long Island!!!" He's a guy that has hunted all over the world. Speaking of which I should give that man a call

  9. Welcome Atek, i'm from the city myself. You should look into getting a permit to hunt in Sterling Forest state park, & also obtain the permit to access DEP watershed lands. Feel free to contact me. After the 19th i'll be going afield with my new Excalibur Vortex crossbow. I'm new to Hunting myself but my father was an avid hunter. I like the fact that hunting with bows be it compound, recurve or a crossbow they don't make much noise at all & don't spook other nearby game.
  10. Nice catch, welcome to the forum. I'm from the city myself & actually go practice at pro-line
  11. Welcome to the site, new hear myself

  13. Good afternoon to all fellow NYS Hunters. My name is Paul. I'm a city boy from the Bronx who loves the outdoors. I just started Bow Hunting, I currently own a Bowtech Assasin & practice at Pro-line archery lanes in Queens. I also own an Excalibur Vortex crossbow & am looking forward to going afield with it. Anyone know of an outdoor archery range in NYS that will allow me to sight in my crossbow? Unfortunately for this new Bow season I have only been able to go out Hunting once & that was yesterday. I went out to Sterling Forest. I was Hunting between the sterling ridge (blue trail) & w. valley (green trail) above the Bare rock (orange trail) & although I did not Harvest any deer I seen about eight in total. One I know was a buck that could have been taken in the Antler restriction area. None came in close enough range for me to take a shot but I really enjoyed myself. I also seen 1 coyote & numerous squirrels. Along my trekking to find a good tree to climb with my lone wolf stand I found some fresh black bear tracks. I also plan on Hunting in Suffolk County & have permission to hunt private property in Westchester. I look forward to being a member of this community & Thanks to all in advance
