  1. Anyone have any experience with this muzzleloader? I'm thinking of picking it up for the lone ML weekend of the season. I've never hunted ML, so I'm looking for a good entry-level one especially since I'll probably only use it during the week of ML season anyway. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Traditions-Canyon-50-Caliber-Muzzleloader-with-Gun-Case-and-Starter-Kit/1289732.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fcompare_items.jsp%3FcategoryIds%3D%26entityId%3D1289732%26entityId%3D735321
  2. Thanks a lot. Just sent Slippy field and another guy a pm...
  3. I know it's an old topic, but I was going to pick up my first camo jacket/bib and decided on the fall grey predator insulated stuff. I spent a little while searching last night, but where do most people pick it up? Right off the http://www.predatorcamo.com site?
  4. A lot of the Android phones can just unmount their SD card, so cycling the phone isn't needed. There's also the Eye-Fi SD cards. It's basically an SD card with a wifi adapter built in, and the company has Android/Apple apps for the phones. I've been tossing around trying one out to share non-phone pics quickly while I'm at stage rally races, so I have no first hand experience with them yet. Almost forgot the link: http://www.eye.fi/
  5. If you have a smartphone or tablet, with a MicroSD card, you could always use a Micro w/ SD adapter in the trailcam and then just pop the Micro out of the adapter, throw it in your smartphone/tablet and look at the pics. I sort of did this when we went on our EU trip this summer. I used a micro w/ adapter in our camera, then at night would pop the micro card out and throw it into the tablet to view them larger.
  6. They're done. They flooded when the area was hit 5 years ago too. I heard a few weeks ago that they might find a place in Vestal to reopen, but I haven't heard anything since.
  7. I was talking with a buddy at work, asking if he knew of any courses as well, and he mentioned if I had an out of state license before I moved back to NY. I actually had an AK, non-resident, annual license while I was living in NJ because I had been traveling to AK for work and a few of the guys up there suggested I grab one in case we had free time to head out. I'm going to try and call the DEC today, but does anyone know if that will "fulfill" the prior license aspect of the NYS licensing?
  8. Thanks for the welcome. I've been checking the DEC website, and tried to get into that "homeschool" class in Delaware county today but I called on Monday, and then double checked yesterday, and it was full. I'm totally willing to travel, but all those on the DEC website are 2-3+ hours away and multiple days, if they were single day classes it would be totally different. I found a couple around here, at the local ranges, and called up those instructors but those are full too. When I called my region's DEC office the person I spoke to said "just what's on the website", so I'm going to try other regions Monday. I'm keeping my hopes up that hopefully I can find one.
  9. Hey all, I'm Chris from right outside of Binghamton. I haven't been hunting in years, basically just when I was real young and I would go out with my dad growing up. I got back into shooting a few years ago and was planning to do the hunter's ed course this fall, at the range I belong to, but we were hit in the flooding so I completely missed out. I've been trying to find an open course but haven't had any luck whatsoever. Chris
