  1. No, the difference between us is that you think you know someone else's heart. I ENCOURAGE everyone to open your link and read the article. It will do even more to point out the ACCUSATIONS made with no substantiating evidence to back up the claims. People who want to ban fracking have been known to alter reports and put out false narratives to support their cause, because they plan to win the fight at any cost. If any of these "studies" had any validity, don't you think the PA DEC would have to respond to them? Perhaps you believe the entire state of PA is corrupt, without concern for the health of it's citizens and is being bribed to allow an unsafe industry to rape the entire state? I find that to be a scenario beyond belief.
  2. Absolutely not! The industry has put it's own oversight in place that is actually effective. They know what works and what does not. The government has no clue. Anything the government puts in place would probably be as effective as anything else it institutes, a dismal, inefficient failure. Gun control regulations are a perfect example. It would be like letting garbage men write regulations for brain surgeons.
  3. Watch the video to the end. At no time was the black guy handcuffed. He was not placed under arrest either. When the other cop picks up his rifle, it was probably just to verify it was not loaded, which would be illegal. The video ends, but I'd bet anything he was allowed to leave once the police verified he was not a threat. This is another example of the deceit some members of the black community are using to push their agenda. This may happen to anyone who open carries, but they chose to use a video of a white guy who's well know to the cops and has been stopped many time before. With all of the cops being shot these days by blacks, can you blame them for wanting to go home safe at the end of their shift. If blacks want to blame anyone for the way they are treated by cops, they can blame the radical members of their own race. Those are the folks who gave them the reputation they have with the police.
  4. Nope, the industry is doing fine with it's own oversight, which it knows best how to do. If the government decides the regulations, it will inevitably turn out about as well as anything the government decides to do, a dismal failure.
  5. This is part of the article you posted. Every single report I've seen has the same type of disclaimer in it. Why would this be needed? "But other research has found little harm from fracking. Duke and federal scientists, in a study released earlier this year, found no evidence that shale gas production in Arkansas caused groundwater contamination. A Department of Energy study this year also found no proof that fracking chemicals tainted drinking water aquifers at a western Pennsylvania drilling site. Scientists attribute the mixed research results to varying geology and industry practices nationwide. Fracking fluids are sometimes reused or disposed of in deep injection wells, but in some cases, they are treated and released into public waterways. Years of such disposal have created "potential environmental risks for thousands of years to come," says Vengosh, adding that the water will need to be cleaned. An industry group faults the Duke study as outdated and biased. "The shale industry has not taken flow-back water to this treatment facility, or any similar facility in Pennsylvania, since May 2011," says Patrick Creighton, spokesman of the Marcellus Shale Coalition. He cites 2011 tests by state environment officials that showed no radioactive contaminants in the water used and produced at 12 of 14 water suppliers in western Pennsylvania. Creighton says the study's partial funding from New York-based Park Foundation, which has supported some anti-fracking projects, raises questions about impartiality."
  6. Just trying to keep people in the present. Some prefer to live in the past. Technology advances all the time. Why should any argument about what happened 50 years ago hold any sway in the current debate?
  7. What do you suppose this cost "Government Motors"? This cost will be passed on to their future customers. http://patriotpost.us/opinion/35136
  8. Ancient history has no bearing on today's industry, which operates under more stringent oversight, with far greater safety measures in place. Many more people died in automobiles prior to seat belts and air bags. Should we be removing cars from the roads too?
  9. From what I've heard, the NY State Police have officially said they will enforce it, but I believe many of the troopers have big problems with that stance. Like I said, you have to be smart about your non-compliance.
  10. It's a good thing a lot of NY State gun owners aren't pissing their pants in fear of Cuomo and his insane hatred of gun owners. If they were, They'd already be suffering under even more oppressive gun laws Cuomo is just itching to impose on them.
  11. 97% of scientists support global warming/climate change theories? I'd like to see the source of that claim. Last I saw, there is no consensus and the scientific community is equally divided on the issue.
  12. If I had to guess, I'd say most of the LEO's that will enforce this unconstitutional law are either on Long Island or in or near NYC. Cuomo doesn't have the resources, or the revenue, to enforce this law across the entire state with that level of non-compliance. Don't forget many upstate sheriff's and LEO's refuse to enforce it as well. Of course it goes without saying, you need to be smart about your non-compliance. It has been said, the best way to build resistance to any unconstitutional law, is to vigorously enforce it. Until this law is repealed, jury nullification is the best course of action to defend anyone charged under this law. NY citizens need to educate themselves on what that's about and get it into every Judge's instructions, to every jury in a SAFE Act case.
  13. Doc, I'm not directing this at you, but I'd like to see someone post current factual information on any actual verifiable evidence of drinking water contamination in PA. After more than a decade of fracking there, with all of the suspected horror associated with the practice, the state should be suffering mass casualties and environmental catastrophe on an unprecedented scale by now. Either the press is in bed with the PA government and the gas industry, or the predicted disaster just isn't there.
  14. Gun owners in New York are refusing to register their guns, where the non-compliance rate may be as high as 99 percent! http://bearingarms.com/gun-rights-group-wins-access-potentially-embarrassing-ny-gun-registration-data/
  15. No, we just trash regulation that has a cost too high to pay. Like the looming EPA regulations with their "carbon tax" which will take money out of every American's pocket, destroy many jobs in various industries, with no evidence at all it will have any positive effect on the environment. It seems to lend credence to the argument this administration is really trying to fundamentally change America into a third world economy.
  16. Know why they get away with this type of permit abuse? Because they have nothing to fear when they do it. Until a victim can come up with lots of support and cash to bring it to court, nothing happens. And when the court finds a clear abuse of an individual's rights, there is no penalty to be paid. Maybe if political peons starting going to prison for violations of gun rights, like they would if they violated someone's civil rights, they would think twice about doing it.
  17. Thank God we live under a government that wants to be sure we all have very little of it! If you're poor, they'll be sure you stay poor. If you're rich, they're working hard to make you poor. If you believe the government really cares about you having clean air or water, you're a fool. Right now, it doesn't care if Iran gets a nuke to start WW III with. That's the climate change you guys should be worried about.
  18. Why is it that none of this is ever applied to Progressive initiatives placed into law via executive order buy the messiah of the Left? There have been many warnings from experts in the fields of economics, social engineering, business, law, military policy, foreign relations, labor, manufacturing, immigration, etc., etc., that have never been considered by the current administration. Why is it nobody cared about the precautionary principle on those issues? The harm done to this country by this administration and the political left is far worse than anything fracking may ever prove to be.
  19. Regulations, when applied by anti capitalist politicians, are simply road blocks on the free market highway. Regulations have a cost that must be paid by the free market. The question is, is the cost so large it kills profits, or puts the company completely out of business? Regulations can also be used against any business that opposes a current administration, or social policy, as an effective form of oppression and tyranny, which is simply abuse of power. That is the type of regulation this administration seems to have enacted the most since Obama has been in office. Abuse of power type regulation is the most costly form of regulation on the free market. It not only stifles current markets, but erects barriers to new business entry into those markets as well, thereby eliminating competition.
  20. Do any of you guys even notice none of these studies ever conclusively states any real problem? How many times do you have to see the word "MAY" in print in these reports before you start to ask why it doesn't say something more certain like "DOES"? Because it is not scientific proof, that's why. Apparently reading a lot of reports claiming fracking MAY cause everything from cancer to violent death, causes brain damage in the people who want it to be the Devil incarnate.
  21. I never say that, nor have ever said that. Just a little bit of intelligence would be nice though.
  22. Everyone? You sure about that? Most folks I know don't, but they do have a huge amount of debt.
  23. Individual preferences may vary, but an Independent can be an eco-facist and big government proponent that supports the ideology of anti-capitalism. My reference is to liberals in general and their anti economy regulatory platform. And the devastated economy makes it someplace you would want to live? Long Live The Great Depression #2
