And now you are the protester. That is ironic. arrowflinger , go home will ya! Back over to Syracuse outdoors! I'm not the protester of anything. You’re the self appointed central NY savior of everything. If anyone is a protestor it's you! You add noting to the discussion but personal attacks in an attempt to distract and keep the thread alive because you can hide behind a key board using an anonymous name. Why don't you step up and tell us who you are it may add some creditability to your argument, or it may not. LOL Then I can take your name and FOIL the legislators in your area to see how many letters and calls you've made in an effort to hinder hunting in NY. Ya know I spoke with a guy a few weeks back who mentioned a guy on the forums from your area. He quoted you word for word but he could not remember your full name. He said all this guy did was go from forum to forum ranting about crossbows and any other thing he felt would start an argument. I’ll have to call him and ask if he remembers who it was he spoke of. Yep arrowflinger, only agree's to a few items in a thread to continue the thread on another usless topic. :-X Brings nothing to the but wants to eat everyones elses food. : Probably one of those guys who got involved in an association then bailed after a year because he couldn't get his way. :'( Sad in a way , and people ask why soprtsmen get crapped on all the time. I'll tell ya what , you've chased half this forum off with the same BS topics as are on other forums. So you take your puffed up chest and remember why NY is in such sad shape. I'm done on this forum~ :-*

Michigan? LOL Yea MI. I know forums are better than TruTv. -
How times have changed. I couldn't travel in uniform in the mid 70's without having to fight my way past the peace-nicks and the in your face loud mouth protesters. It always intrigued me how those protesting for peace didn't think twice about starting a fight. They were more than willing to have there teeth kicked in, in the middle of an airport. Well, until it actually happened. I could have given two squats hat they were doing , but they just had to invade my space.

Posted 19 February 2011 - 09:47 PM I was at Bass Pro in Auburn Hills, Mi. the other day, the archery clerk told me they were selling 20 crossbows for every compound they sold. A 20/1 ratio. /at that rate i'd say we will have a strong political voice. ========= Oh the whining hasn't really been loud, yet. Wait till the "purist" bow hunters in the DEC hunter Ed program have to start teaching the crosBOW section in there class. :-* -
Reference: "State Courts Reject Challenges To Uniform Laws," America's 1st Freedom (March 2011, Page 57) As the main Petitioner in Chwick v. Mulvey--the lawsuit that invalidated the "deceptively colored" handgun ban law in Nassau County, New York--I am pleased to advise that Nassau County will not be appealing the ruling. The parties reached an agreement whereby I would not pursue the costs I was awarded by the court in exchange for the county waiving its right to appeal to New York's highest court. While I was confident that our decision would withstand further appeal, it made sense from an economic standpoint to accept the county's offer. It also ensured that the decision would stay on the books and remain binding precedent in the New York counties that contain about half of the state's population. Of course, I certainly could have used the money I won to pay off some of the considerable amount of outstanding legal fees that I still owe. But it was more important to me to finalize this important preemption victory for the benefit of New York's gun owners. My case established that preemption of firearm laws is alive and well in New York. We are in a much better position here than we were prior to the ruling! Sincerely, Alan Chwick, NRA Life Member 5 Brunella Street Freeport, NY 11520 516-903-1959 AJChwick@... P.S. You may print my address, if you wish. +++ BPB comment: Maybe some of you guys can spend a little time writing out a check to Alan for a few dollars between solving the worlds problems from a key board?

NY's Gun Registration & Fee Scam
bpb replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Sponsor: ADAMS / Co-sponsor(s): SERRANO / Committee: CODES / Law Section: Penal Law S2994-2011 Actions Feb 4, 2011: REFERRED TO CODES S2994-2011 Memo[pre]BILL NUMBER:S2994 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the penal law, in relation to the registration of firearms PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to provide for the registration of firearms by the owner thereof at the county clerks office of the county where the owner resides, except in New York City. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill incorporates a new section into the New York State Penal Law. 400.02 will state that any person who owns a firearm in New York State needs to register that firearm every year. Along with the annual registration of firearms, there will be other requirements that firearms owners will have to meet in order to legally possess firearms in New York State. The registration of firearms will be done by mail or if you are residing within a city it may be done at a precinct. This registration should include the description of the firearm, meaning any serial numbers on the firearm, owner's name, address and phone number. The location of where the firearm will be located when it is not in use should also be incorporated into this registration. Also note that a ten dollar fee would be charged for the registration of a firearm. Photo identification will be given to the register owner after he/she has registered their firearm. In this photo identification the description of the firearm will be included. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: 04/07/08 Referred to Codes 02/26/09 Referred to Codes 01/06/10 Referred to Codes JUSTIFICATION: Through the use of an annual firearm registration, we are able to have better tracking supervision of the firearms circulating in New York State. There are many firearms that are illegally possessed in New York State but by implementing a constant registry of firearms we can come a step closer to identifying those illegal firearms. Also with this annual registration of firearms, firearm owners are better protected by law if the firearm is stolen or lost and something unfortunately happens with their particular firearm. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None. LOCAL FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None. EFFECTIVE DATE: On the 120th day after it shall have become a law. Subject: Legislative Alert Importance: High Your SUPPORT is needed on the following bills: [pre]S 2385 GALLIVAN Same as A 2986 Burling [/pre] This bill would allow the hunting of deer and bear through the use of a rifle in Wyoming County. [pre] [/pre][pre]Environmental Conservation Law Section 11-0907 currently allows the taking of deer in the southern tier region by rifle in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chemung, Chenango, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, Yates, and a portion of Broome County.[/pre] [pre]At the request of Wyoming County, the county would be included in those areas where sportsmen and women are able to hunt deer and bear with rifles. Since 2005, several counties in the Southern and Central New York have been allowed to permit hunting of deer and bear with rifles. There have been very few reported adverse incidents or problems. Given the rural nature of Wyoming County and the safety record of hunters in the counties where rifle hunting has been permitted, it would be reasonable to now permit rifle hunters in Wyoming County the same opportunities.[/pre] S2648 GRISANTI No Same as [pre] [/pre][pre]This bill would clarify that personal information submitted on applications for hunting, fishing and trapping licenses and permits shall not be disclosed outside of the Department of Environmental Conservation.[/pre][pre]The right of hunters, trappers and anglers to maintain their personal privacy and security entails an obligation of government to protect personal information submitted to an agency for the limited purpose of obtaining a license, permit, stamp, button or tag from unwarranted disclosures. With the climate on LI I would not trust anyone in law enforcement. That area of the state goes out of its way to look for people to arrest who own a firearm.
-
I'd figure out how much shooting you plan on doing before paying $$$$$ for a reloading set up. You may find it's just as cost effective to purchased $500.00 worth of ammo than to reload dependingn on how much you plan on shooting every year.
