Ive had good luck with midway, and have used them many times in the past. They have almost everything i need for my projects and i can get it all in one place. When they get ammo in, it is only available for sale for a moment. I was looking for 22LR and 223 ammo two months ago and my buddy called to tell me both were available on midway. By the time i got to my computer the 22LR was sold out and by the time i reloaded the page after purchasing 5 boxes of 223, it too was listed as sold out. All that happened in less than 5 minutes...

Going camping with my son in the Boyscouts next weekend
ridenismo replied to Deerthug's topic in Camping and Hiking
Biggest comfort item to have on a camping trip is a sleeping pad from my memories. I camped all over NYS, from 2 feet of snow to BLAZING hot summer days. One day when i have some time i have every intention to give back like Rev Ev said, as i too am an eagle scout. -
Recently the guy at dick's in Vestal hooked me up. Some people may not like the kind of service he provided but i surely was thankful. I was looking at the various EXPENSIVE 22 ammo they had on the shelf when 4 guys came to teh counter and bought all but 1 of the remaining boxes 7.62x39 and 223 ammo. They were also asking the guy about bricks of 22 ammo and he said he didnt have anymore. Once those guys walked away he called me over and handed me a brick, and said "shhh" i try to save some of these for guys that are going to use it, not stockpile it.

I dont care how against dogs the Mrs. is, if you bring home a puppy and keep them from having accidents in the house, you cant lose that war, everybody loves a puppy. And for the company of man's best friend, the name princess is a small price to pay. My dog's call name is Gus, but one of the hardest hunting labs ive ever seen in the fields chasing after pheasants was named tinkerbell!

Ive learned I get the things i want by asking for forgiveness rather than permission. And with that said heres some pictures of my new pup, hes 9 weeks old, purebred German Shorthaired Pointer. Already pointing at a pheasant wing on the old fishing pole in the yard, working on house training, and has been growing like a weed. And yes thats a clay pigeon thrower mounted on the railing of the back deck!

Another possible way to bring an AR back to NY is to completely dissassemble the lower, so its just a bare lower (free of all components that make it classified as an Assualt Rifle by the safe act) and then transfer it from NC to NY via a dealer. Pick up the bare lower and reassemble your parts in it. Just a thought

suggested parts for an AR 15
ridenismo replied to jesse.james's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Any of you guys thought of the AR15/AR10 "80%" lowers you can finish with a simple drill press? No serial #'s to register, and legally at the federal level you have the right to own any gun you manufacture as long as it is not for the purpose of sale or gift. By completing the lower to 100% you effectively are the builder, and did so within your own home for only personal use. BAM! suck that safe act... BTW idk if its actually a LEGAL way to circumnavigate the Assualt Weapon ban in NY with the new SafeAct, i just know its how a lot of AK47's were built with the reciever flats and parts kits back when i was in highschool and trying to one up "the man" -
hahaha, i go to school in NC, born and raised in upstate NY though. You want an AR15 in NC, itll take longer to count the cash than any of the back ground checks/waiting periods involved. Ill be watching this, i might have to make some purchases while im down there before i move home, and am wondering what all might be involved in legally bringing it back.

Good luck with your search, I know from experience $$ is a difficult aspect of education to deal with, thats why i ended up in NC. It was cheaper for me to pay out of state tuition in NC than in state tuition at SUNY binghamton (my hometown). I went to Penn State my first year dual majoring in mechanical and nuclear engineering and BLEW most of my college saving fund. Since then ive been struggling to work, save, and attend school as money allowed since. Im 24 now and the end is finally getting close, plan to have a dual degree in biology and environmental health science. In a few years if i get my dream job you might see me in the field working with NYSDEC as a field biologist.

6.8 SPC Fir Deer? and in AR15 platform?
ridenismo replied to Buckwild96's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Its either 338 lapua or 300 win mag. Its not a gun ill shoot a lot, but as of right now i dont have any 30 cal plus sized rifle since i sold my .308 AR, so i need something for bigger game. I have the 22-250 for coyotes, so it would not solely be a coyote gun, rather it'd probably rarely be used for coyotes. -

ive been toying with buying a remington 700XCR in .338 Lapua. Mainly for the huge fields, the lapua would make any yote my bitch. And also, who doesnt want to brag they have a badass rifle for the longest of ranges! -
When im not laid up with a broken leg, i go to school in greenville, NC. Not to many pigs around those parts from what ive heard. TRUST ME, ive been keeping my eyes open for any chance to slay swine down there without having to pay.

Yea very well could be the same gun, its killed a whole lot of coyotes in its day, thats what he used it for most. Thats a nice red fox, ive got two this year one BEAUTIFUL and one looking pretty rough. Ive been in NC the last couple of years for school, but im 24, born and raised on a farm between endicott and owego, 2006 grad of UE.

No havent ever had my hands on a 22 mag, ive had the .22-250 my whole life. I know somebody, also here in endicott, used to hunt coyotes with a gun almost identical with the light and everything if my memory serves me correctly. He also was the kind of guy that had a pricetag on everything he owned so i wouldnt be suprised if he sold it.
