I'm very surprised in the lack of hunters in my area around Darien, hardly anyone out. Hmmm I wonder if the DEC ever thought that there would be such a lack of hunters in the woods to just get a doe ? I have only seen 1 or 2 cars in Darien state park at a time since the season opened and hardly anyone on the shoulders or fields around here. Makes you wonder if its due to not being able to shoot at Bucks/

So this is supposed to be a reason to make hunters kill more does ? Who in their right mind thinks that this will happen ? For one why not just issue doe permits for FREE ? That would be an incentive to harvest a couple more every year Secondly stop building on all this open country land pushing the populations into other areas I know that I will now not hunt for the 1st 2 weeks of bow season, I will not even step into the woods no big deal. But I will not muzzleload anymore so I guess when they get a hit in Albany on cash flow from a lot of western NY hunters that will do the same we will see what they think then. Where do they actaully think this stuff up

Hi everyone, I know this is a hunting forum but I also now we all either have sleds or know someone with a sled or two. This year several land owners have shut down parts of the trail system in and around Springville area. Why because people can't understand that, for one, when you are out riding that you are most likely on PRIVATE property and for two, them little signs that have speed limits and other thing posted on them? Well you supposed to be OBEYING them !!! Maybe get the word out to everyone and let them no that its going to be the same thing as hunting soon enough! What do I mean well you know all them red,yellow,green,orange & black signs that say POSTED ? Well people are starting to blow it for everyone else ! So lets try and stick together and let people know that land owners aren't going to tolerate it anymore !!!! Just a thought . We need to be more aware of the privileges that we get from people that we don't even know and respect not only there property but the laws and the privacy on peoples property !!!

Very sad...I went to Darien state park 15 years ago and hunted. The 1st time ever in there I walked across field and heard three shots and felt things whizz be my face. I have never been out on public land since that day !!! People are trigger happy. I hear it everyday so far of this southern zone deer season...pow pow pow pow pow pow ... yikes

I see that a lot of you are having issues finding ammo. I know the 22 LR are basically obsolete from the stores because people seem to think making 100 a brick on auction sites are the way to go.To each there own....... Tell them you want to be protected under the U.S. Costitution and the need to get legislation passed to protect that right. enough of this facebook,youtube and whinning and crying ..Make your calls now. Also Alabama swamps is another really good spot outside Pembroke-Oakfield ny area. They have public hunting areas all over that area.some people also call it Iroquois wildlife refuge. I wouldn't be much concerned hunting turkey in public areas during Turkey season .I would be petrified during deer season though !

I would call local police in the area that you hunt or shoot at, because i have several friends that are deputies and they aren't going to enforce this crap. But the state police on the other hand ? Thats a whole different ball game. You should call NYSP and ask for yourself. All are laws apply to everyone ! well except if you are a politician !

Hi all' I figured it was time to hit the internet for some hunting news ! Well I hunt all over NY and have found some of the best white tail areas right here in Western NY . Pembroke has been great to me over the years, But I leased some property in Ellicotville this year and to my amazement it was just as good. I will say if you are looking to lease property I really found it to be a very good experience. Overall if you do the research you can find it very reasonable.
