  3. Vince ~ those are interesting but each has its own strap. That's a lot of straps in a tall tree!

Been watcin vids and it seems simple enough to tie and very compact over sticks which i like. Call me wierd but i hate bulk. I hike my stuff in and all that crap on my back make me feel like quazimoto

  4. not entirely..... you've got to figure in recurve crossbows.  Excalibur in my opinion makes very nice crossbows that are all recurve.  The couple lowest end ones they make have the lightest limbs at 200lbs and they're rated for just over 305fps.  that's a little sluggish in the crossbow world.  all the rest are over 200lbs.  so NY's laws now on the books make practically an entire manufacturer's line not legal to use.  only reason is they didn't think things through and consult the industry before writing the law.  typical NY policy and I'm not ok with that.  I do think that something close to a 200 lb compound limit and 300 lb recurve limit for crossbows would work to allow what's currently out there for "run of the mill" offerings.

have an excal hanging on my wall now thats at 175# doing 305 and though i love that xbow, i am waiting to buy another excal that can pull a bit more speed.

course since i woosed out and got another compound xbow that was on the cheap side i may just wait a bit longer to buy.

ny laws suck balls i tell ya

  5. Did they give any examples of the technology the students were trained in?

cant answer that as I am no education expert, my point was they adjusted to the situation and improved overall. they took a long term solution over a short term quick fix

  6. I make decent money and save what I can for my families future. Hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, archery for the kids, soccer, cloths, rewards for good behavior in school, and CHRISTMAS toys that I often find go untouched after a time are things that COST me a pretty penny for myself and my family.  I ALWAYS look for a deal when shopping and generally get more than decent use out of the things that I buy.

you guys can shout go trump all you want but be prepared for the coming trade wars that tariffs will bring. Prices WILL go up, cost of living will go up, minimum wage will go up, amount of people receiving all those social programs hard line conservatives love to hate will skyrocket further hurting what is really an unsustainable system Americans have been spoiled with all over the country.

from what I have read I find it easy to believe that if trump has his way it will lead to a more isolated expensive, more dangerous world where American influence is reduced.

mind you if another world war happens America being where it is will of course be a bit safer than the rest of the world. but just like before, EVENTUALLY we will be pulled into it.

there is no easy answer but there are other things that can be done to bring jobs back to America before starting a damn trade war. investing in technology and improving education like what they did in I believe was Singapore, they bit the bullet and invested in educational system that got their kids ready for the next generation of industry and they IMPROVED their standing in the world.

it took time to kill American jobs, no one man is gonna be able to be able to FIX it in 4 to 8 years without screwing us in the long run

  7. I'm sure we all did wrong growing up. But I can't recall a case where I ran from the law, and injured anyone. I can't recall when breaking the law, I didn't have to pay for it. If you do the crime, be ready to do the time.

And this thinking is wby the us is leading the world in incarcefations and falling behijd in education.

One bad choice shouldnt ruin ur life. And more often leads the revolving door society we have now.

Take an idiot and force him to learn as oppesed to for in him to rot in jail and u just created a taxpayer as o0possed to a tax leech

  8. where do you draw the line? what offenses get the pass?

Any crime were the person shows perversion or a basic disregard for life. But im no judge and its not about what crimes get a pass.

Its a choice between ruining the life of someone who in a few years will mature to be a productive citizen or helping put him on the path to worse crimes.

I was taught to help not hurt. If a person is beyond help they will shoot themselves in the foot by saying screw the se ond chance.

  9. I get that he hurt the officer and as i said he is a pretty cool eco and didnt deserve that. Now if we are looking at young adults with a history thats differnt.

My take is the state should attempt to rehab and educate prior to incarceration especially when there is a solid support network for youthful offenders

  10. couple kids arrested for running over a DEC Officer with their ATV. Got my license checked once buy this guy i believe, one time when i was hunting out in long island. Was pretty awkward for me but he was pretty cool and shot the crap with me for a bit though said he was checking for a complaint about someone with a rifle in a bow area or something.

Kids just put a big stain on their records for no good reason.

On March 13, ECO Travis McNamara and NYS Trooper Fabio Daino were on a multi-agency ATV/ORV patrol, sponsored by the Pine Barrens Law Enforcement Council, when the officers encountered three four-wheel drive vehicles operating illegally off road on PSEG property in Shoreham. Officer McNamara was speaking to the driver of the lead truck, Trevor Galvez, 17, of Selden, when he and the other drivers attempted to flee. Galvez quickly backed up, running over the lower leg and foot of Officer McNamara, fracturing several bones. Officer McNamara was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he underwent surgery and was released later last week.
