  5. Found a scrape right behind the house a couple days ago and put a homebrew on it to see who all was using it. From the scrape... Even a redtail wanted in on teh action...'
  6. I'm not one that likes treestand hunting deer in this dang wind, so instead, me and the boy went pheasant hunting first light today. He flushed three birds, I ended up with 2 roosters. He's such a ham getting his pics taken.. Might get out an sit in a tree this afternoon if this wind dies down. Take care Dave
  7. Thanks guys, yeah he hits this same apple tree every night. The thing is loaded this year, as well as all the others. Funny there isn't any acorns my way this year though.
  8. Got over 200 pics of this guy in one night. I don't think the white flash bothers this deer.. Take care Dave
  9. Got my capture authorization forms for my falconry liscense so we got out earlier this week to try and trap a new redtail for hunting rabbits and squirrels this year. The weather couldn't have been any better. We had some time restraints, so we could only trap for a couple hours. We ended up catching one mature male and one yearling male which we released. I'm waiting to catch a nice heavy passage female for training. Hopefully nextime we'll get lucky. Here's the setup.. The bait.. Comming in for the kill... In the bownet. Take care Dave
  10. Another awesome series Wooly. I really dig your macro shots. That skeeter on ole Chippy's snout is a good one. Like the mantis shots too... Heck -I like em all... Keep em comming...
  11. Is what I call this knoll with this apple tree on it. Got a few different 8 pointers hitting it this year...Hopefully a couple will make untill next year. Take care Dave
  12. Why don't the big boys stand still like these little guys? Got one shedding his velvet too.. First time with the Nikon.. Take care Dave
  13. Bye Bye.... Good luck to everyone this fall. Dave
  14. Bucks are starting to hit the apples hard in my area. It was a bumper crop this year too.
  15. Yeah Rob- check out my falconry gallery on my website if you'd like. www.pbase.com/yellowdogdave There ain't nothing like hunting with a redtail... if you ever get a chance to go out hunting with a falconer and his bird, take it - you'll be amazed.
  16. Here's a few of my boy Dobie.. My Redtail hawk Roxie and Dobie after a suscessful rabbit hunt.
  17. Been real busy again this summer, hope things calm down this fall so I can get around more often. Been seeing a few nice bachelor groups my past few outings with the Nikon. Hope to now get some decent trail cam pics of them. Take care Dave
  18. Been a while since I've checked my cams, got a couple nice shots of some young ones this time around.. Seen a nice 10 point real close to dark - these were taken with the ISO on my camera cranked right up so they are pretty bad. And a horizon shot on my way home one night... Take care Dave
  19. The fawns sure are growing quick. Got a nice shot of one at an old cemetery this past weekend. Little buck Seen my first set of turkey poults this past weekend as well. Could only get one shot of them.. And lastly a little moon shot.. Take care Dave
  20. He's looking nice but I'm not so sure that's the same deer. There's a notch in his right ear in this years pics , but I can't see it in last years, unless he got it after your pics from last year. Maybe it's there in your first pics and I just can't see it. Just sayin this might be a differnet deer.
  21. Went to check my trail cams and got a few pics with the Nikon on the way... Momma and a little one.. And a few shots from the trail cams He's not shy at all...lol.. I put a few more trail cams out today - hope to get some bigger bucks here shortly.. Take care Dave
  22. Thanks a lot guys. These pics were taken with a Nikon 200-400mm f/4 VR lens. If they are quite far away, I'll crop them in post processing enough to see them fairly well. The problem with doing that is it makes them blurry. The heavier you crop - the less detail you'll have. But having the big glass helps a lot to begin with.
  23. Starting to see more deer out at dusk now that the farmers are getting the hay cut. It's good to see some antlers coming along nice. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Take care Dave
  24. Seen this guy a few times hanging around my corn field. This time I had my camera with me.. Nice poop shot of a little buck.. Finally will have a long weekend off this week. I plan to float the river for some good fishing, I'll be taking my camera , no telling what critters we'll see. Take care Dave
  25. Thanks guys - these were all taken with a Nikon D300 and a 200-400 zoom lens.
