  1. Doing some planning for future land management: Does anyone know of any nurseries/retail outlets (CNY or SNY State)  where you can purchase Red/White/Hybrid Oak  trees larger than saplings?  Would prefer not going via the native nurseries/ shipping route.
Might be a little out of your way but check Ontario orchards, out on 104.

  2. I use an older rear tine tiller with a good 5 hp tecumseh engine every year. It's belt drive which has one advantage, when it digs up a root it kind of clutch stops instead of lurching. I remember renting frankin-tiller from sunbelt, man. Anyhow if it's a newer plot area be prepared to stop once in a while, shut down & clear the tines. A lot of nonsense will get knotted up in them.
    Good luck.

  3. Greetings,

Two more dunstan chestnuts brings the count up to 7, should be 8 but one didn't survive winter so I used it's spot. Going for about 12 but the ground is a chore to dig into where I am & the dunstans in 5/6 gal buckets arn't easy to come by & not cheap either. 3 more apple trees for the year, got a line on some oak saplings, .. more work. Also dropped two pin oaks I think a third is in order.

Maintaining the w/r plots, clover/chicory, and redoing the soy plot again. Thinking of mixing in some turnips or some jazz like that in.

  4. Forge soy beans, I think.

Converted, well fall planted 1/2 acre with soy. Two weeks ago I was working on the plot stand and noticed the bean plot looked like a storm had matted it down. I thought beans should be more sturdy. When I was done with the stand I went over & checked out the plot, turns out about 2/3 of all the tops were snipped off.

  5. I bought a big hang on from dickssportinggoods it's got a foot bar and generous standing platform, suspended seat. Its a decent stand, except for the shooting rail attachment which I usually bungie out of the way. And will probably just remove next year now that I think about it. Unless your mr. slinky its a pia.
