This opinion is from someone who cut the media subscription cord years ago; if they cut your commercialized 'show', call them and cancel your subscription. People need to open their eyes and realize what mind drumming garbage they are paying to be fed.

Well this year seems work mixed up vacation schedules so it pays to have some coverage at camp. Half dozen phone calls later .. frigging clowns.

Every year about a month before the opener I buy 3-4 ratchet straps and replace any that look questionable or frayed. Stand inspection at the same time. Is that a gauruntee no, but it still gets done.

Scope on the rifle but muzz has so far been just sights. Turkey gun has the tri-viz sights, I do like them. Slug guns sights or red dot. Thought about a scope if I get a rifled barrel for the 12 or 20 but honestly where I usually hunt I don't need either.

I wouldn't bank on bordering state land. A few years ago they logged the north end of tiophnioga (7m wma) and it got trashed. A lot of swampy marsh full of hawthorn now. Parking spot & official Dec hiking trail. All the oaks planted way back when - Asta LA taco.

I'd like to think most here do their part. I mean getting the kids out or maybe spending time at a hunting/game club. But I think if you look at the way people get tied down with bill's or responsibilities it's easy to get lost in finding the time these days. For example my son would like to go hunting again, but new job, back to priority bills need to be paid.
Just saying I think there's people who want to but get tied down.

Brand name escapes me but I use shoes to scoot up to camp in the winter, dragging some gear in a mixing tub behind me.

What's the ata on that bow looks like a great stand machine.
About a month ago I just had my bow gone over at the shop. New string as well.

Interesting, I made a 18" extension for a 15' and while I plan to keep the stand where it is I was stuck on not moving it until I take a break between bow/muzz or getting it done & setting up a cam there. Or, if I score I could do it after the drag so to say. I have an extra set of 20' sticks to help work - adjust the ladder etc.

Like everyone else said I wouldn't overthink it. If it's just one spot perhaps have an alternate path to it and switch it up.

Depends on the wind & stand. Damn bugs near the swamp. I like the open mask not a full mesh.
