  1. Got this doe yesterday after friend put on a one man push. Got another nice one shotgun opener. Bummed season is over. Enjoyed about 80 hours in the woods with lots of memories. Have a very Merry Christmas everyone and hope Santa brings you some great hunting gear.

  2. Hunting 9H tomorrow. Darn near 4 feet of snow there. Packing in gear on daughter's sled so I don't sweat on way in. I think the snow is too light and airy for snowshoes. Going to sit in the dark pines and dig myself in a ground blind. Calling for 9 degrees and west wind of 11 mph. Should be more comfortable to sit in there than stand, and snow tends to be not as deep in there with canopy of white pines. Second to last hurrah with Tuesday closer and my last hunt then. Hopefully my theory pays off that they'll be moving thru there.

  3. I own a Beretta Tomcat in .32 which never leaves my pocket. Went with the sole purpose of buying the LC9 for something a little bigger in punch. Had money, got gun in hand and a little too big for front pocket carry. The extra inch more than the .380 LCP is quite noticable to stuff in the pocket. I walked away without buying anything. Really wanted the LC9. My .32 with silvertips is going to have to be it for now. Remember a .380 is better to have on you than a .45 at home in the drawer/safe. Summer carry is tough. All for having something rather than nothing IMO.

  4. I had a few days where I didn't see a deer but had a great time. And when I say "days", I'm talking in the stand before light and staying till sundown. Time well spent away from the noise and daily stress. And not seeing deer just makes me try and figure out the area I'm hunting that much more. Back to the scouting board.

    Well said

  5. Oh lord that map isn't even close to accurate!

I'd narrow it down to WMU 9h but that would seem misleading to some in the same general area.

I know a few miles away they haven't seen half of what we got here up on the hill!

BTW- snowshoes are useless when it piles up this deep..... I tried that this morning, lol

I regularly hunt 9H myself. Off 362  Forwent driving down from Lancaster yesterday as the North and South winded roads were going to suck at 5 am. Seeing those coyotes out that way? There's 5 or so hunting hard my way . Did find a set of fisher tracks last week which was sort of cool. I'll be down that way Monday and Tuesday again.

  6. 9h was a bust yesterday. Dark til dark. Until 1 in ladder stand covering the sanctuary dark pines where they seek refuge and covered the apples from climber in afternoon. Nary a deer to be seen. Still have a few inches of snow out there. Very windy and sleeted hard. Considering not even going in high winds. Never any success during windy days. Apples are getting worked over well lately. More snow coming and Thursday's another day. Good luck everyone.

  7. Have had my Summit Viper for years. Very comfortable to sit in dark to dark. It's not noisy nor difficult to use. I'd consider it fairly light . I'll be in it tomorrow to set up a decent shooter that's a touch off the path from my ladder stand.

  8. Just saw a pic of the biggest whitetail I've ever seen. Killed off Rte 219 during bow season . I believe it was a 12 point. The mass was unbelievable and thing had to weigh 250 lbs. Wondering if anybody had info on it. Age ? Real weight? Score? Friend of hunter had pic. Said they had only saw it on game cams 3x in 5 years. Just not sure why more info hasn't floated around. This thing has to score 180.
