  1. see I use this sight for ideas I'm a type that feeds my family off what I harvest. BUT there is a store down the street so its not a matter of survival. there always gonna be opinions but for me its the love of watching the wildlife. Big or small there's something about the time that is spent out there. no matter how you chose to hunt in a heated blind or hanging off the tree or walking there's a lot of things that lead into calmness. Not let me get something bigger then the next guy. Ive been hunting for 21 years and had a lot walk and took alot and no I'm not a guide or a pro at this but learn every year i go out. So if you get the biggest buck in the state or the smallest I love to hear the story's so i can try the same thing to learn more. That is what the fun of hunting is learning if you are in survival mode then a different story all together.
  2. I went out the last 4 days and seen a doe that was bedded down other than that not even signs. Im hoping things start picking up................
  3. Good evening everyone I,m curious on what signs everyone's seeing I have a 100 acres in zone 8A and usually the boys are ripping it up with rubs scrapes lots of sign. This year nothing so far ............
  4. Im thinking of doing the same I think it would be cool to use one..............
  5. the thing that bothers me is they know its there and if there is a next time they will have cutters. They did try to pick the lock. Now i have to use my cams to catch them instead of what its used for.. UUGG
  6. Never fails this trail cam was given to me by a dear friend and im so glad I locked it up but this day I had it pointed in the wrong direction. O they tried to pull it off the tree and pick the lock
  7. Im using a 4 in vain on carbon arrows. Its amazing to me on how these arrows fly kinda all over the place. Im using the same grain and the same set up that I have used for 20 years except of course the broadhead. I keep reading about vain to head alignments. some say keep them aligned other say off set. I just hate to pull inserts or re vain the arrows if its a tuning issue with the bow. I guess Im looking for tips.
  8. Hi everyone Im sure it in the threads some were about this. Im trying a fix blade broad head this year from the mechanical I used for years. Is there a tuning process I should be aware of before I start moving things around on my bow. I have a 2 arrows that fly solid and 2 that fly to the right. I did however try a couple more arrows and they flew to the right again. Thanks for any input on the subject...........
  9. I know with my signs I use a ladder get them high and I have some hunters orange paint I us in the backing of the sign. They almost glow in the dark LOL. My issue is the property next door the owner has a bar. So they let anyone hunt. They drink hunt and drink more the word travels fast when hunter go in so more come out.
  10. Its been an on going thing for me "knock on wood" its been quite back there the last couple of years. The neighboring land is starting to post so im sure soon there will be out again. Its not that im greedy its I don't trust anyone any more. I put way to much time and hard work in set ups just to walk out and see candy wrappers and cigarette butts O and beer cans all over. I cant forget my tree pegs and seats for my ladder stand on the ground. I have my trail cams up and locked and I hope I don't catch anyone on it. I will go to the cops.........
  11. Hi everyone does anyone have a good story of trespassers and how did they handle it. Mine of many is when I had a hunter leaning on one of my posted signs and I asked if they needed anything. Im a jerk when someone who doesn't ask to hunt just shows up out of know were. He looked at me and said what are you doing on my dads land .LOL. Shocked at first cuz that's the first time I ever heard that one and I kinda know the neighborhood so this was a new face I have never seen before. With a smile I said wow that's first time I have heard that one . Usually I get Im lost or my shot deer happen to run over here and they need to get in my stands to find it. LOL. So he asked what my name was so he could call his dad to see if he wanted to press charges on me for trespassing. I told him Ill make easy for him and call them myself and I pulled my phone out and he looked at me in a slight panic and said Ill be back I am going to get my dad and scooted off in a good clip. The scary part of it was I have the land posted But 100 feet from the house is were he was sitting looking at my back door. Kinda wounder if he was watching the wife get ready for the day you if know what I mean.
  12. I think its more a curiosity thing. I have try the same thing but coffee or what ever I was drinking that day LOL. But use a drag off of it and put the real doe juice on it thinking that the luck would kick them away. Believe it or not I had one walk the drag line and walk under the stand.
  13. Thanks All the original head I used was 75g I'm looking at a 100g fixed blade . O well i guess ill stick with the plane and drop the 100g on and do some adjustment's. Thanks again
  14. I was the same way looking at at the cams my best friend picked one up for me for a b day gift its the primos truth cam 46 IR it has 46 IR lights for night shots and the shutter speed is pretty good to. Right now I have it set on a 5 pic burst and use a 4g card witch they say is good for 3 to 4 thousand pics LOL. Dont need that many but nice to have I guess. The big thing for me was shutter speed and video option and I have no complaints about it. The setting are easy and it has nice options like you can change the number of IR lights that go off and megapixel. The price I think was 150 to 200 I guess it depends on were you get it. Good luck.......
  15. Hi all thanks again for reading this post. Ill try to explain this a little different so I am not confusing anyone. Years ago in a local bow shop there was a poster I believe it was from easton a graff that showed what weight grain heads that you should be shooting. I cant remember what that formula was if it was poundage (FPS) or draw length. The reason why I am asking because the heads I used for years is a very light head and I would like to switch to something different. I'm going from a mechanical to a fix blade AT LEAST I'M GONNA TRY LOL. I have tried fixed blades before and they were never as forgiving as a mechanical. So this time around I would like to try to match up the proper grains to what I shoot. I am currently unemployed at the moment so 30 dollars for the heads I used for years doesn't seem feasible at this time. Nyslowhand.... Thanks for the links im gonna dig into the easton one a little deeper To answer rock's question I am at a 26 draw length and my arrows at a 28. My arrows are a gold tip graphite XT 5575. I don't know what FPS I'm shooting at. Thanks again for your help......
