i honestly recommend one with a bag cutter attached, but at $53 this is a great starter and even a backup vs ~$120 sale price of one with a bag cutter.

that says manual.  does this mean I would have to operate a pump to remove the air or am I missing something?

nevermind - link opened now.  it didn't open at first.

  2. I bought one from waltons for about $125 that holds 7lbs.  works like a champ.  I have a stand mixer that I grind with and the bowl from the mixer holds about 5-6 lbs at a time for mixin in the seasoning, so the small works great.

  4. cant wait for the morning,  my buddy will take his son and mine,  I am working till about 0545 and will then ride up and see if I can get into where they are.  hopefully i'll get stuck at the car with  them with birds all around, but it would be a bummer to not be there when they get a shot.  NO huntin for us on sun.

I was up the weekend after valentines day - first time in about 17 yrs - got skunked in ellis cove.  Guys were catching them on  that dead drift bobber set up where the reel free spins until you hook up and set from a drift boat.  At that time everyone was using blue egg sacs.

  6. I use the kitchen aid attachment and it works like a champ.   i think cost about $60.  i did 12lbs of deer and 3lbs of almost all the way frozen pork fat for breakfast sausage, and it took about 35 minutes.  I'm in no hurry,  i put everything in the freezer for about an hour before i start.  I alternate between meat and fat to push any fat thru that hasn't come out yet of the grinder.  the kitchen aid you cut the meat into strips not chunks.  i make patties not links.  i would like to get a stuffer to make links, thats next on the list.
