Mile it was a bluebird day. The buffs were the only birds flying. Temps in the 50's light south wind. The migrant birds still haven't come down to long Island in big numbers due to the warm weather. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

we had good success at our camp in central NY;S Otsego county. opening day john started off the day with taking a nice big doe at 200 yds. mariano had 2 does come up behind his stand at 20 yds. he tried moving for a shot when they picked him off and ran off. then he sees an 8 pointer later that morning 75 yds down. he tries to get into position for a shot and he gets picked off and that buck vacates the area. then we had andrey a 1st time hunter miss an 8 pointer at 50 yds.he later filled his doe tag at 40 yds. mauro another 1st time hunter saw a 10 pointer trot past his stand at 25 yds. he didnt feel comfortable taking a moving shot so he let it pass with a gaping open mouth and wide open eyes! lol later that afternoon he tagged his 1st doe at 50 yds with his henry 357 lever action.mike nailed a nice doe at 50 yds.my dad saw 4 deer run below his stand with no shot. day 2 19 yr old brian got his 1st doe ever at 25 yds. john spotted a bear cross the feild at 200 yds he wouldnt stop for a shot. day 3 mauro saw a bear run up the hill 50 yds from his stand but again doesnt feel comfortable taking a moving shot. mariano sees a hugh 10 pointer across a feild from his stand 75 yds away he quickly put the crosshars on the deer and fired. he missed due to a bad case of buck fever! i searched for signs of a hit for over an hour nothing. an hour later he sees what he thinks is a doe out at 150 yds. he makes a perfect heart shot on what turned out to be a 3pointer. a few minutes later john on his stand sees a nice buck sneaking his way in the woods at 80 yds. he grunts to stop the buck and makes a perfect heart / lung shot. he only went 5 yds and dropped.day 4 alot of guys went home or took the day off from hunting so we let the woods rest. day 5 smitty filled his doe tag at 30 yds. good hunting! MARTIN WAS OUT WITH US THIS WEEK FOR A MORNING HUNT AFTER A 20 YEAR HIATUS FROM PHEASANT HUNTING AFTER COMMING TO THE USA FROM IRELAND.
