Maybe I'll try no decoys. Maybe they don't even see them who knows
-
Thanks! Hopefully it'll happen sometime this season
-
Thanks so much. I know they're near by. With in 125 yards they just won't come in. Maybe they're still on the roost. Who knows
-
Going out in the morning. How often should I call?
-
Same thing happened earlier gobblers all round but wouldn't come In. There was at least 5 gobbling from all over
-
Thanks for the info. Heading out in a bit to see if I can't get one.
-
Went and set up around sun down. I'm in a good location I believe in a field with some pine trees in it. Hopefully I'll whack one with the stick and string in the morning
-
I'm going to my neighbors who I have permission from to hunt on his property. I'm gonna try and go over and call to some bird see if I can't here any in the roost. If I can't but know birds are in the area should I still set up there? Or try so we here else where I can get birds as near as possible?
-
I'm not sure if they are still on sale. But I think they will work for now. I'm going out Saturday. I'll see how they work. I'll probably just put out my two hens
-
In state. Probably with bow. But I'd use a gun

I've never hunted bear before and might try to hunt one in the fall. Where would I begin to hunt bear

There are bristles which allows the string to go farther forward and when the string is on it way back to normal position the bristles take the vibration out of the string.
-
I'm looking into getting a new string stop for my bow it's pretty loud and I've been looking at the bloodsport zvt. It says it's supposed to reduce string vibration and sound by up to 60% and increase your bow speed by up to 6 fps. Sounds like a win win situation

A mule deer hunt is at the top of my list. Hopefully in a few years I'll be able to go out west and hunt one

Doesn't sound like much of a hunt to me. Thanks for the info. I'll be swearing clear of that place

Anyone know anything about the Tioga hunting ranch in PA. I've been looking at it and was wondering if it's worth going to for a hunt? I've been thinking about it for a while. Any feedback would be awesome.

Thanks for the info. I'm kinda new at this turkey hunting thing. It should help a lot I'll be sure to put something up if I get him
-
Maybe I might've over called or called to loudly. Could've been anything
-
We were quiet for quite a bit. He started gobbling a little then piped right down. I had two hens and a jake set up. Could it have been the jake?
-
This morning we had a turkey gobble to us all morning. He wasn't really gobbling after our calls but a few minutes after we called he would gobble. The gobbles seemed to progressively get closer but it seemed the gobbler was behind us or would never step out to where we could see him. I had decoys set up in the field in front of me. But he would not come to the decoys or in the small pice of field we were in. I was yelping cutting and clucking. And he gobbled every few minutes or more from 6:25 to about 8/8:15 ish then he seemed to just disappear out of thin air. Could it have been my calling? My decoy set up? Any feedback would be great. Thanks

Ground Blind for bowhunting
THHuntNY replied to THHuntNY's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I picked up the Ameristep brick house blind on Friday. I'm loving it. -
Anyone know of any reasonably priced ground blinds that have plenty of room to draw a bow back. I tried the ameristep dog house which was tiny.

Thanks for the info in appreciate. I'll try to use them and if they don't work Oh well. Hopefully I'll have some luck
