  4. I have a .50 caliber flintlock by traditions, 28" barrel, 1:48 twist. Comes with everything needed to shoot, cleaning supplies etc. Asking 350 obo. Personal or direct message me if interested. I have pictures and will send if messaged. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hello everyone I hunt in WMU's 8Y and 8W but this year drew for two extra DMP's in areas 8J and 7H, thinking there was state land there to hunt. Does anyone know of any farmers or people with a lot of doe that they would like taken off their property? I strictly bow hunt so there would be no firearms involved with the hunting. I am looking to give the deer to family and close friends and fill my freezer as well. If anyone knows any information as to who I could contact to ask for permission or if anyone knows someone willing to let others hunt please send me a personal message. I know this is a super stretch out there but I figured I'd ask and give it a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think those are keds. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with scent or not. I find them on me occasionally. I think they just attach to your clothes while walking through the woods but I could be wrong Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Found this stuff at a Field & Stream and was wondering if it's any good? It's field and stream brand but Fiocchi makes it. It's pretty cheap stuff 13 bucks a box. I've been shooting Winchester blindside but decided to give this stuff a try.
  8. Well she's finished! It's a real basic flintlock but I couldn't be happier with the result. I'll post pics tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Mine came with the stock all cut out for the rifle I just had to stand then finish the stock Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Can't wait to get it all finished and in the woods here in a couple weeks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thank you! And I got the traditions Frontier rifle kit 1:48 twist. From the research I've been doing it's good for both round balls and conicals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks so much Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Just recently purchased a flintlock build kit to pass a little time. I'd really like to get it in the woods during rifle and muzzleloader season. I'm just not sure what weight bullet or ball I should use with the powder charge. I will be using 85gr of 2F powder. What would be a good projectile weight that will kill a deer. I don't really want to make shots over 100 yards, not because I am in able to shoot over that distance I just don't want to end up wounding an animal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I put one arrow through it at my local shop and I fell in love. Butter smooth.
  15. I just picked up the new xcentric 7 from xpedition. Amazing bow Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  16. Makes sense on why to make the switch to a fixed head. But I'm just worried about an accidental bad or marginal shot, they don't have that big cutting diameter like mechanicals do
  17. The place we booked the hunt with is called Loon Lodge in the Allagash region
  18. Sounds good. I'll probably just stick with the head I'm shooting now then. Can't wait for the hunt
  19. I've seen a bunch of them but then I've seen a few videos where guys talk about how 20 percent of the time they don't work and a black bears wound will gunk up with hair and fat and then you'll lose the bear. I don't know I'm probably way over thinking this
  20. I shoot a 70 pound bow with 29 inch draw so there's plenty of energy either way. But I might have to take a look at the QAD Exodus or slick tricks...all the reviews I've read on them say they do more then get the job done.
  21. Going on a bear hunt in Maine in the beginning of September but I'm a little skeptical on the broad heads I currently shoot. I've heard that expandable heads don't work to well on bear but then I've heard they work fine. Should I make the switch to fixed or will shooting a mech not make a difference?
  22. Where can I find replacement places for these???? And can I just use the standard two blade replacements?
  23. Will they work or is there no point in trying?
  24. Took the ASVAB a while back scored a 77 is that a decent score or should I retake it and shoot for a better score?
