Someone walks on my property during hunting season damn straight... too many excuses and BS I have watched some guys as they thought about taking a swing...no ones given me the pleasure yet...just another thing that pisses me off about all the ones looking for an angle..an angle to hunt where they don't have permission, an angle to kill something the legally can't... If my neighbor is looking for an angle to screw me...I'll make it straight...if my neighbor needs my help...I'm all in... I can talk to anybody and am not afraid to help or confront. I will try to work a problem out but the majority of people I have dealt with open their mouths and the BS just pours out...then they are done...an apology and honesty will go along way with me. BS, and its over plain and simple. I guess why it bothers me so much is I hunt for the peace and quiet, comraderie with other like minded people, and then all too often it is ruined by the same kind of mentality I deal with all day and I don't want to expect it from "hunters". One buck and/or shorten gun season...and lengthen bow season Hondo
-
Hey Muck Great Buck...I have two bucks I have killed with the exact same "peace sign" G2/3 Cool and congrats! Hondo
-
Good job Congrats

Nice buck great job congrats Hondo

Oh and on the One Buck only topic...great idea! I would support it, but will admit being a bit of a hypocrit at the same time, as long as I can legally take two I will if they are what I am looking to shoot. Unfortunately they are smarter than I and I have yet to have that opportunity. Hondo

I should be thankful for Outlaws...they are going to send my kid to college. I have been no angel in my llife...made mistakes and paid for alot of them, probably in some way all of them. I have learned though if I have been wrong to apologize and pay the dues if that is what it comes too. I run into too many people, who I have caught say trespassing...and to a man I have yet to get a simple apology and "it won't happen again" I get lies, arguments and even beligerence. Then to see the intelligence online of defending doing whatever you want...grrrrrr. I ain't gonna lay down for it... Hondo

Amen to CulverCreek. Brandon... I agreee in principle and it is the law for now... there will always be those that want just one more chance. One of the problems with society in general..."the I deserve what I want" mentality. If you burn your tag on a little guy and then shoot a monster just cuz you can get away with it...no defence whatsoever...don't even try Hondo

Amen Brother! I am by no means a wealthy man. Decently employed, but things are tight and my GF just got laid off. If I have to work extra and will if I can. I am also sick of people sponging off the system and the government giving away half of my paycheck. And before anyone gets into a rant about my being employed..I willingly help others and have had my own charity event to raise money to help the hungry..just sick of people making living off the system a way of life . But now I digress. Personally, I was just talking to my buddy about how if they are going to give us two buck tags a year then maybe we should be allowed to use them both during bow season and if you burn them both before gun so be it...just too many people not willing to live with the consequences of their actions and trying to "have their cake and eat it too" Hondo

Gundeck you are right I don't know this guy...but I know my gut...my guess is I am not far off in my opinion...to come online to get congratulated twice for killing bucks in the early season... I am thinkin jerk...now that being said...if he drove up to the Northern Zone and took his buck there with last years tag then no harm no foul and that is why I haven't named names or done anything about it. But it is appearant that there is some support on here for that kind of activity and has stirred up a little ethical hornets nest. Hondo
-
I was waiting for that one...so you followed the law... again...fine with me... I just have a funny feeling that does not apply to the situation that I am talking about Hondo
-
Gundeck...maybe you are missing my point...you said that your buck was not legal to tag as a buck..if it was a spike with antlers under 3" then you are within the law...no problem... I choose to hold out for big bucks but have nothing against anyone that wants to shoot little ones. But be prepared to pass up a monster later in the season if you have burned your buck tag on a small "antlered deer" (legal definition) The first buck taken while small by no means qualified as "antlerLESS". I am aware that very many people break this rule...doesn't make it right...and while your argument about speeding is also correct...if you get caught...then you have to pay.... but to come on a public hunting site where a new generation of hunters may be reading and indicate ignoring game laws is A-OK cuz we feel like it. That is taking it too far. Hondo

This post is about two bucks during early season...still notsaying anything smart enough to change my opinion of you. And could care less about yours of me Hondo
-
It really burns my ass that some of the guys out there hunt " It's brown, it's down" which by itself is fine if that is how you want to hunt and YOU have the legal tags for it. It's easy to hunt like that when you don't give a crap cuz you will just go out and shoot the next biggest one you see.. legal or not..you can find a tag...or butcher it up quick enough so no one knows till your dumb ass goes online and tells the world. And Redneck I only say you cuz you defended it, your not the one I noticed but your mentality is the same. According to your argument, if I am rich enough I should be able to shoot anything I want? You sir no doubt in my mind are a Moron Hondo

That is the typical thinking of most scumbags... I see it everyday...anything to get around the rules that the majority of other people follow. Then to come out in public and brag about it...smart...Idiots like you are the ones who will eventually ruin it for all. Hondo
-
I am not refering to you or your neighbor...though if your neighbor does that then he is breaking the law...you can certainly call in an annon complaint. Just read a post about a buck and thought some things looked familiar in the photos and I checked back a bit and saw another. Double checked and can't really see an explanation or justification for the two bucks Hondo
-
I know for a fact that you cannot share antlered tags and that if you do so with with antlerless tags they have to be signed over. Unless there is a real good reason it seems to me someone on here has the balls to take two bucks in early bow season and go on a public forum to talk about it. This crap pisses me off. Hate to talk out of school , if there is legal justification for it but I am betting someone thinks that they can use there regular season tag during bow, got one from friend or family, or just doesn't give a damn....to me that equals POACHER. Hondo
-
I am pretty sure from reading my tags that you can only shoot one antlered deer during Early Bow season. Can anyone correct me if I am wrong? Hondo

Actually I just remembered opening day of gun season a few years back. I shot a coyote early, got down dragged him to the base of my tree and got back up in the stand. A little while later a yearling buck came in, walked up, sniffed the dead coyote and walked off. A couple hours later another coyote came in and met the same fate. ) deer but two 'yotes Hondo

<blockquote> Well Mitch (15) shot his first deer last night. 5 point buck, first deer, first buck, first bow kill! I am pumped and so is he. He actually shot twice. The first shot was only 5 yards and he shot over his back. We were in a double ladder stand and I was holding his waist to try and calm him as he was shaking hard! SO was I!. The buck looked around after the shot and then just started walking away in front of us. He got to the logging trail and I grunted to stop him Mitch was at full draw. The buck just looked back and Mitch had to hold his draw. Finally the buck took a couple more steps and turned broadside. Mitch let the shot fly and I watched as the arrow hit the buck. Well placed shot, a little low and back . We waited a half hour all smiles and laughs. We tracked the buck up into a pine swamp not alot of blood. I jumped the buck and he ran toward us wheezing badly. he ran right by me so close I could have almost clubbed him. He then held up in some thick stuff. We backed out and went back this morning and found him in about 5 minutes. A fox had taken a little bit out of his shoulder near the entry wound and after sitting all night he was a little ripe but Mitch did a great job on field dressing his first deer. And as bad as it smelled he is psyched to hunt for more. What a great season so far. Hondo </blockquote>

I doubt the deer ever left Hondo

Here is one for ya!

Congrats on a fine buck! Hondo

Sorry for your situation Stretch. I have been there done that...even with a fixed blade. Deer can and do survive single lung hits sometimes. Do your best, learn what you can. There is no doubt in my mind you've done what you can and took a resonable shot. There are so many variables as with all things in life, and they are not all going to turn out the way we hope, even with the best of effort. Hondo

Can't believe I had to waste my tag on this guy opening day! I hope that is tongue in cheek! That is a great buck Congrats! Hondo
