The bore size is equivalent to a 16 Ga., I use ff Goex black powder. I'm not sure what you mean by using a 'sabot', the 80 grs. of powder are loaded, then an 1/8" thick hard card, a 3/16" cushion fiber wad, then a paper shot cup I make filled with 1-1/2 oz's. of #5 lead shot and capped off with a 1/32" thick over shot card. I use box calls that I make to call them in and limit my shots to 35 yards as that is the limit of where I still have a fairly good pattern. Probably could shoot further, but I won't.
