If I understood this correctly that you've been married for 57 1/2 years that is amazing. Congrats.I will be taking my wife of 57 1/2 years of marriage to dinner . I buy her a Rose Plant every Valentine's Day . It's something that lasts . I put a bunch of lottery tickets in with the Valentine Card . If she wins big , she may leave .........
Tomorrow I hit 35 years of marriage. Didnt think there were many people left married as long as me.
Enjoy your time with each other.
Bought my wife some live tulip bulbs and they started sprouting today!
Dinner tomorrow after the renaissance festival!

I agree fishers are eating machines, a smaller version of a badger in my opinion. I have seen them wipe out a whole chicken coop in one night, 10 chickens within 5 minutes. They are fewer in number than Bobcats by us in 3H/3K. But they definitely can hold their own as a predator. There has always been a population of fishers in the Adirondacks..I have a NYS Fishing and hunting syllabus from 1959-1960 that lists a trapping season in the northern zone from Oct.25 to Dec. 31...I think the fishers, like the coyotes, expanded southward and westward as the forests matured and the habitat became more suitable for them..
Pennsylvania did stock a bunch of them in the north central counties and it is believed that this population has expanded northward into adjacent NY counties...I am not aware of any NYDEC stocking of them..
Although fishers have the ability to kill and eat porcupines ( more so than most predators) I don't think they are a favored food source for them...In the first place, porkies have a very low reproduction rate, and even in places where they are relatively plentiful, there aren't that many of them...Besides that, killing a porcupine without ending up as a pin cushion is quite a challenge, even for a fisher..They would much prefer to take easier prey, such as squirrels.. I think squirrels and other rodents make up the bulk of a fisher's diet, although they are voracious, opportunistic predators and will take rabbits, birds and most anything small enough for them to kill if they get a chance..

Those 2 look pretty good size, do you keep track of weights after harvests?

I was under the impression that Bobcats were very territorial and that only a very few lived in a particular area.
Have your traps been in the same general area?

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe his girlfriend is better than waffles.
A man should never love his waffles more than his wife!

Please advise:Finally have everything that was needed for the new setup. 850nm ir bulb in the wicked light, added a more tatical bolt handle. The factory one was short and my fingers would hit the scope. New one is longer. Picatiny attachment point were the sl8ng stud was for the light. Got a clamp for the tripod so i can be standing at my sets and be hands free with the gun until needed. Hopefully going out for a few quick sets tonight. Weekend weather looks crappy so hope i find a dumb enough yote tonight.
Tripod
Ball mount
Rifle clamp

Just think how expensive it would be if you could actually use supressors to hunt with as well.
I guess you should be thanking gracious Cuomo that he is saving you from having to spend more money

I would also like to know about the DEC ruling regarding Sullivan county since I hunt at times in 3K and 3H. Especially in rough winters I prefer to help the deer , turkeys, etc, during these rough times .

I'm thinking what you already thought of, spotting scope would have been very beneficial.
