Hello, i know this is a long shot but I am looking for a lease for the 2018 season and beyond within an hour of Albany. The lease is mostly for deer hunting but would also maybe hunt bear and turkey. The lease would be for myself and 1-2 other hunters. We are responsible ethical hunters who would sign a liability agreement and follow all land owners rules. Ideally this will be a long term lease. The only reason I’m looking for new hunting land is I have a 1 year old son and want to hunt closer to home to be able to spend more time with him. I have tried that invention called google and have also called most farms in my area. If you don’t have land to lease maybe you may be able to steer me in the direction of 1. I’m trying to avoid state land so I can hang cameras and stands and I like knowing where other hunters are in the area. Thanks for any help andy

Hey guys, I'm looking for a decent priced hunting land lease for 3 hunters. One of the hunter's teaches hunters safety with the DEC. He is our mentor, so he teaches us about being ethical, polite, and safe during out hunts. We are looking for land 2-3 hours away from NYC. I'm also in the market of buying a small parcel of similar distance. Maybe around 5-20 acers, nothing to big. You can reply here or at [email protected] for serious offers. Any questions please do the same, many thanks in advance!

Hi! The name is Andrea. I have been hunting for a number of years with my best friend and we are looking for a property to hunt on for this season, mainly during the week. I get out of work at 3:30 and we don't have time to drive down to the land I own, which is over an hour away. Looking to lease for this season, and potentially years forward. Bow Hunting ( A must!) Gun Hunting (preferred) Geese/Waterfowl (preferred, not necessary) We lost the land we had been hunting in Throop after the person moved and sold the property. Please reach out to me if you have any leads or information you can share with me! THANK YOU and good luck this season!

Are you looking for a place to hunt? Tired of competing with the masses on state land or knocking on doors trying to beg for permission on private land? Are you someone new to hunting looking for the right opportunity? We are seeking individuals of all hunting abilities to round out our remaining memberships. We are located in Colton, NY near Cranberry Lake in WMU 6F. Our lease consists of a variety of different terrains on nearly 1,300 acres in northern New York's Adirondack Park. Pines, hardwoods, hills, swamps, brush, a creek; we have it all! You will see deer, grouse, bear, turkey, rabbit, squirrel and lucky members have even come across an occasional moose. Full membership of $550 annually (divided into two payments) allows year round access to the club including two camp buildings (bunk house/main building). Bring your machine; you also have full access to miles of ATV/snowmobile trails through agreements with neighboring clubs. Across the road are thousands of state acres and numerous excellent fishing opportunities exist close by. For NY's southern zone hunters, keep in mind that this camp is located in the northern zone which allows you to begin rifle hunting in October of every year (October 25th this year) long before the southern zone opens. Early bear season begins in September (September 13 this year), bow season starts September 27. Muzzle loader also in October. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, drop us a line. We also maintain a Facebook page if you are interested in seeing some of the deer we have harvested over the years.

Hunting leases available on Monday 3/3
C-H Brad posted a topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
The list of available hunting leases (on woodlots owned by Cotton-Hanlon) will be posted Monday morning (March 3rd) at 7:30 AM. I'm putting the final touches on the list right now but here's a quick preview: We'll have leases available in the following counties: Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Oswego, Schuyler, Tioga, Tompkins. The is one woodlot that has a CABIN on it that is open for lease. The cabin will need to be purchased from the prior lessee and then you would sign a lease for the woodlot with C-H. This is a unique opportunity to get a great area to hunt and a move in condition hunting cabin. Can't tell you any more right now but if you are interested make sure to check out our website right at 7:30 AM because things go fast. How it works is the website will have a list that includes town, county, number of acres, cost, and an aerial photo, if something catches your eye shoot me an email and if you are the first one I'll email you maps of that lease and give you two weeks to go out there wander around and check it out. If you like it we'll draw up a lease at that point. Bob O'Brien http://cottonhanlon.com/leasing.html -

There is a really good chance we'll have leases opening in the following counties: Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Toiga, Tompkins, Cortland and Oswego counties. Remember it's first come first served so make sure to check the website right at 7:30 AM on March 3rd. If you have any questions before then please do not hesitate to shot me an email [email protected] or post the question here. I know there are several C-H lessees that regularly post on this forum, they might be willing to add their two-cents on any questions you post. I have been a deer hunter since I was a teenager, and hunted mainly in the Adirondacks. I have lived in and around Syracuse for 28 years and only started hunting in the Southern Tier for about the last 12 years. The problem is finding private land to hunt on with my 4 buddies. We had a really nice farm parcel to hunt up until just before last season when the owner decided to lease it to another group who would let us in on the lease. Now we are scrambling to find land... I would like to purchase land or lease but its hard to find any available within say 1 hour of Central New York. Any ideas?

I am new to the capital region and I had been hunting on the same land for the past 6 years, but will not have rights this year because the property was sold. I am trying to find some ideas for places to hunt in, or close to, Saratoga County. I have played around on the DEC website for public land, but it can be a bit confusing. From what I have heard, the public land around here is very crowded during the hunting season. I am open to hunting on public land (mainly during bow season), but i'd prefer to have something private for gun for my own safety. I can really only get out there 2-3 weekends during the season. I even thought of dropping off flyers to some local farmers near my house but I was sure if that would tick people off! I was going to pay, barter labor, or even or meat for rights to hunt occasionally. I'd be open for any suggestions! Thanks!
