Amy "Carr" Sandgarten, of Skaneateles, holds up a nice, 30-inch northern pike she caught.

Her husband, Jonathan, wrote: "Recently on a family trip to 14 Island Lake in Canada, about an hour past the border, fishing was the main activity for sure. We all had the burning desire to catch the biggest and best fish.

"Going into the last day, all the guys were fighting for that top spot each of us with a pike or walleye in the 22- to 25-inch range. Amy bested us all with a 30-inch pike that put up quite a struggle."
