Syracuse.com - Wanted: Round gobies from Oneida Lake

Recommended Posts

"If they're here, we'd like to see one," said Randy Jackson, senior research associate at the field station.

I've been hearing unconfirmed reports this week about round gobies being caught in Oneida Lake. Officials have said all along that they expect the invasive fish species to make it's way into the lake via the Oneida River.

However, at this point, there's been no confirmed instances.

If you do catch one, take it home and freeze it. Officials at the Cornell Biological Field Station in Bridgeport would like it to examine it. For more information, call 633-9243.

"If they're here, we'd like to see one," said Randy Jackson, senior research associate at the field station.
