Jacob Yanchisin, 13, of Syracuse, poses with his first wild turkey that he shot near Baldwinsville during the Youth Wild Turkey Hunt weekend.The adults who accompanied him were his father, Jay Yanchisin and Matt Frackelton, of Baldwinsville, a family friend. The bird weighed 22 pounds, with beard length of 10 inches, and spurs of 1 ¼ inches. "Not bad for his first turkey," the father said.
