He looked enormous.

Kyle Holbritter poses with a nice, 10-point buck he shot on opening day of the Southern Zone deer hunting season.

He said he took it with his 300 Savage, Model 99 on land south of Utica.

"This one is a big 10 point that green scored 141 inches (on its antlers)," Holbritter said. "The deer weighed 165 pounds after being field dressed. We could hardly believe it because he looked enormous.

"He must have lost a lot of weight chasing does," he said.
