Snowshoes...Granger State Forset and Pinckney State Forest

Well, never made it to Fort Drum for snowshoe hares this year...My buddy cant make it so I was planning a solo trip up north next week before the hare season closes on the 16th...looking at Granger State Forest and Pinckney State Forest...never been to either of these areas before.  Anybody familiar with them and how the snowshoe hare hunting there is? Thanks for any input
