Rick Howard
5 slates , 2 glass , push pin and my 35 year old Lynchs 101 foolproof box have all come up dry. Guess I need a copper Going to order a Lonnie Sneed slate off season as well. He's supposed to make some great calls. You will have a nice call from Mr. Sneed. I love his hot hen. Copper, glass, aluminum, slate, crystal, titanium, brass, corian.... All the surfaces work. I think it's more about what your saying and when your saying it. Though I do think some frequncies get hit more than others. I use raw aluminum. Any sort of pre-conditioned surface is going to wear down and require conditioning again. Anodized will wipe away with conditioning over time. So I just go fight for the raw. It is consitent from the time you get it till its end. That is, you will have to maintain it but the call won't change from the preconditioned surface to your method. Green scotch brite is how I make it work. Rick Howard
I have a copper call from another person and usually when they won't answer a slate or glass that will get them going. Its easy to make a bad note though I don't make copper yet. Had some request so I plan on tinkering this summer and winter.
