Good reason to be alert ....

So I'm down limbing trees in the lane way ,cutting back overhang...I am hand cutting with the pole pruner . I then hear the neighbor behind me(bean field ) on his four wheeler...he has teen kids and schools still out... listen and I hear it stop 1/4 mile away up hill ..near one of the cam areas...so I hoof it down the lane way and up the hill to back property line...it's the land owner in dress work clothes with a buddy... They see me and turn off the machine and head my way...Crap...I call out Oh no don't come any closer...lol I've been working and having a hard time being near myself let alone afflicting this on anyone else, We all laughed...Well that broke the ice and we talked from a distance over the stone fence..I was serious eeewwhhh I'd been sawing limbs since 9a.m. and it was 12:30 and it's hot.... So they are there checking out the 2 large up rooted poplars that landed on my stone fence...they've been there most of the summer but It wasn't bothering me and I hadn't had time to cut them...He said I have to gets these cut off your place...don't even know what they are...So I told him and we chatted trees and he talked about the deer in the beans...

This is where I hoped it would go...he said have you seen them ? I told him I really haven't had time but our son said the field was full one night...He told me that last night they counted 70 deer  and 20+ Turkey in the bean field....I'm not worried about my hunting season...lol I then told him how they haven't been near any of my plots but are hitting the oaks..I told him how many oaks we have...2 of ours are right on the line..1-2' on us...He then turned to his buddy and said that's one thing I haven't got ...not a single oak. I off offhandedly mention how the property is filled with cameras"every where"......He was on his lunch break and had to go and I headed home for water...Oh I asked any good buck? There is at least one huge 12pt...yep good to be alert while out and about...good friendly chat, exchange of info.. he laughed and said there won't be a bean left by the time the farmer comes to harvest! He may be right.
