chas0218
So yesterday I had to play adult and go to work, the back story here is I took a shot at a nice 120" 8 point during archery hit him in the back strap after blasting a twig about the size of a BBQ skewer. Long story short he is still walking around with a small slice in his back. Felt like crap but saw the hit was really high after he bounded off 50 yards and stood. Well I had a less than great picture of a buck in velvet larger than that 8 point and finally got him on camera about a week and half ago. Real nice 140" 8 point, a real monster of an 8. So yesterday my father in law stayed overnight to watch his football game because he doesn't have any TV at his hunting property. Well he left last morning about 6:10 am about 5 minutes later back in the driveway he came running in the house hysterical "He's out there!!" Just so you know he wasn't talking about bigfoot but big 8. He was stumbling over his words he couldn't believe how big he is yadda yadda. So anyway long story short I didn't call into work and like a good little adult went to the ole grind and stuck it out. I stayed the whole day at work with pictures of him running around the neighbor's field as I watched thru binoculars that morning from my son's bedroom window. He is surely a nice deer and the pictures below don't do him justice. His body is so big it makes the rack look small. I'm hoping I can seal the deal on him this week but we will see. The pictures below were taken last day of bow season when I contemplated taking the day off to do an all day hunt. If you look close in the background the blue rope is my haul line for my tree stand. His days are numbered and I really hope if I don't get him no one else does. I can only imagine if he makes it through another season how big he will be. Enjoy some deer porn. I will say that my father in law doesn't exaggerate and said the rack stands about 2' off his head.
