Mystery deer

I live on long island in an area that is heavily wooded and still consists of a couple small farms, but have not had deer living here for close to 20 yrs. In early august a friend had told me they saw a large buck crossing the road in a nearby neighberhood, I laughed at him and told him he was crazy and seeing things! Sure enough even in disbelief I woke up early the next day and scouted the area. I was able to pinpoint the possible area it may miraculously be living in.it was a small greenbelt owned by the state in between two neighberhoods, about 10 acres.as I walked through the lot I was finding prints and poop, this got me believing that there were deer here. I returned back the next night and as I reached the end of the lot I spotted a large bodied 6 pointer and could not believe my eyes! As I focused in there was a second deer which was a 4 pointer, now I was bugging out!I watched them for over 1 hour they calm and feeding. I did not return till opening day which was one month later and have been in the lot a half dozen times and do not see them no longer. Where do you think they came from and where do you think they went. The nearest deer population is 7 miles away and is seperatedcby many main highways,buildings and residential developments.

Dude i bet you will find it again i live right in the middle of the city and have seen a fox right down the street and 3 doe in my back yard that my dog allmost attcked!Unless someone got him allready he is sill floating around!!

I find it quite odd that there are deer 7 miles down the road and not on that woodlot with a couple small farms around to boot. Is there something Toxic in the water there killing them?
