Steve Hess, of Fayetteville, got into the crappies recently at Cowel Pond (north of Sandy Pond) and also into some nice perch on Skaneateles Lake.

He wrote: "The Skaneateles perch were monsters -- two were over 14 inches. I'm having three mounted by Willowbrook Taxidermy."

All were taken on bass minnows, he said. (See all three photos)
