ADK Native
U.S. Troops Are Packing Up, Ready or Not https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-troops-are-packing-up-ready-or-not/ar-BB1b6JP4?ocid=SL5GDHP&li=BBnb7Kz The article states ““The Afghan Army isn’t strong enough to stand against terrorists just by themselves, and it is obvious that they need others’ support,” said Atiqullah Amarkhel, a retired Afghan Army general and military analyst. The Taliban “are stronger than in the past, and if the Americans leave and don’t support and assist the Afghan Army they won’t resist long, and the Taliban will take over. This is what scares me the most.” So General Atiqullah Amarkhel, Why is not YOUR country ready to take over? After almost 20 years of many American deaths and injuries with billions of dollars spent, why cannot the Afghans have their own REAL military force? Some talking points: 1. America went to Afghanistan to get Osama Bin Laden who then took refuge in Pakistan. According to former President Barrack Hussain Obama, Bin Laden was killed. So was not the military objective met? End of war? 2. One of former President Barrack Hussain Obama’s campaign promises for eight years was to have all our forces out of Afghanistan. That never happened even after the alleged killing of Bin Laden. The media, Pentagon, NATO and politicians were not complaining then. Now that President Donald Trump wants us out, it’s a problem? Anyone who supports the continuation of that wasteful war needs to enlist in the Afghan army and fight…any volunteers or is all talk, no action? 3. Did not America learn its lesson in South Vietnam? Former Presidents Robert Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson were well aware of the reluctance of South Vietnamese men to fight and the South Vietnamese people to support eliminating the NVA and VC from THEIR country. President Richard Nixon “Vietnamized” the war to withdraw America and let the South Vietnamese fight THEIR war that ended in disaster in 1975. Poor President Nixon went against the “Industrial-Military Complex” that General and then President Dwight Eisenhower warn America about. President Nixon payed the price with both Republicans and Democrats seeking his impeachment over the Watergate farce to get him out of office. Truth of the matter is some countries want freedom and democracy, and are willing to fight for it. After almost twenty years of American and NATO assistance it does not look like Afghans care.
