I never knew there were walleyes in Cayuga Lake.

Andrew Rhoads, of Summerhill, caught and released this whopper walleye recently on Fall Creek while fishing for rainbows there. The fish measured 27 1/2 inches.

He caught it on a worm. Fall Creek is a tributary to Cayuga Lake. I never knew that Cayuga Lake had walleyes. Evidently so, judging by this photo.

Nice fish, Andrew!

By the way, the fishing season for walleyes and northern pike closed March 15 and reopens May 5. It's illegal to target these fish during this time.
