  2. What about the bad guys, should they have guns too? If you look at the statistics from countries that allow free gun ownership you will see the crime rates are very low. Criminals generally have no balls when faced with an equal force. Even the odds and the good guys win I'm trying to recall a quote by Ted Nuggent Lord make me accurate and fast If I should lose let me die in a pile of spent brass
  3. What happens if another good guy with a gun hears the commotion and comes running to the scene and doesn't realize that the first good guy with a gun is a good guy? The good guy had the bad guy face down in the parking lot. There were about 20 people watching
  4. No news coverage. All 3 stations were present but must have decided to not air this. They only report when They feel it is nessacary. If it's pro gun they don't say a word
  5. A very good friend of mine was involved in an attempted robbery last Friday at a mall near Rochester. It was an attempted robbery because he pulled his Colt 45 and diffused the situation. When the police showed up 10 witnesses came forward and told thier stories. My friend was not charged with anything . The would be thief was handcuffed and taken away. The woman who was about to become a victim ended up as a witness. This one ended well. If every citizen in the US were armed there would be 99% less crime. Stand Tall, Fight Back
  6. Why I carry a Gun I don't carry a gun to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed. I don't carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place. ... I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid. I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world. I don't carry a gun because I'm evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world. I don't carry a gun because I hate the government. I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government. I don't carry a gun because I'm angry. I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared. I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone. I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon. I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy. I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowboy. I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man. I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love. I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate. I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate. I don't carry a gun because I love it. I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me. Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves. Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess. Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'See More Write a comment... !
  7. This morning my best friends son came out hunting, He decided to try the new ground blind. At 7:40 I heard the shot a nice Doe at 70 yds. This afternoon I figured why not, the ground blind worked again, another Doe at 90 yds. All in all building this was well worth the time
  8. What fun would that be. This way I'm out of the wind and snow
  9. With the forecast this weekend I decided to build the ground blind I have wanted all season. This used to be the pasture for our horses. Now the Deer travel through It's worth a shot. Besides if the wind goes as high as they predict I will not have to climb.I put a nice comfy lawn chair and the view is pretty good.
  10. The blind was built for a very good friend of mine that had MS. At that time he was wheel chair bound, But still loved being out hunting. The blind is only 600 yds behind the house so getting him in there was not a big deal.He was an avid outdoorsman right up to when he passed away this July. We always hunted and fished together .Every time I go near this a flood of memories come to me .He is missed
  11. This Blind was built about 5 years ago. Whenever it is real windy or totally crappy out I head to this. The last 5 years I have taken 4 Doe out of it. They cross from scrub brush right into the pines. Today was a perfect morning to stay on the ground. No Deer but I was still hunting
  12. Walking out to my favorite stand this morning The flashlight comes on a fresh scrape. It is right on the trail to the stand. In the pic you can see my ground blind 20yds away. Coming out at noon I took the pic. This weekend it wasn't there .A nice 6 pt was out at 60yds this morning, not much other action, Hopefully it will heat up soon, The cold weather should get em moving.
  13. I was wondering if anyone was going. I think I might check it out. 40 3D targets sounds like fun. http://www.swain.com/2013/09/05/wny-bowhunting-festival-at-swain/
  14. Rochester area, Traditions Archery. Very knowledgable, Matthews, Elite and Hoyt. Indoor range. Nice people.
  15. The ridgid foam comes packed on all four sides of high end fridges. The owner saves it. I got lucky and he gave me a whole bunch. It pays to shop local. We have purchased all our appliances and hardware from him for 20 years.
  16. As far as security. There are 2 St Bernards loose on the property all the time. No one shows up here un announced. And at tis time the only real gun is my Shotgun for Turkey, the rest are Air rifles. All the other real guns are safely locked in my safe.
  17. For the past 10 tears I have kept all my hunting stuff and Bow shop in a spare room in the house.Last summer I started on my new area. Finally it is done.12'x 16' just the right size. All built on a tight budget. I had to purchase the lumber and roofing the rest was free or cheap. All the insulation came from the local appliance store 1" ridgid foam 5" in the cieling and 3" in the walls. The plywood for the cabinets is 1/2 " all from a friends roof tearoff. After all these years somewhere I can keep all my gear without fear of my wife " cleaning up my area "
  18. I was out scouting yesterday. Alot of squaking not far away. I'll be out before daylight in my favorite stand, Bow ready. Turkey is my sencond favorite season !
  19. A friend of mine had this and gave it to me. An old Winchester 1400 12 ga. It started life as a trap gun, the barrel got bent somehow. The barrel was cut off at 18 1/4 "Sooth bore with a bushnell scope. My friend told me it was accurate to 75 yds. 4 years ago when I recieved it I bench tested using Winchester Super X rifled slugs at 75 yds 5 shots in a 3" group on the money. Every season since I go to the gun club and shoot 3 slugs, there has been no change.7 Deer in 4 seasons. This is short for in the woods and very accurate. My favorite
  20. My wife and I both grew up in Greece. 17 years ago we found a nice old farmhouse with 125 acres in Springwater NY that we purchased. It was nice to open the back door and let our 2 sons (3 and 4)run free. We totally remodeled it and put it for sale with 25 acres. I kept 100. We then found a foreclosure 1 mile away, it was in real bad shape 1600 sq ft and 28 acres. the house is 1000 ft off the road and totally private. As I walked the land I saw alot of Deer sign. The hunting was good. As I got to know the gentleman on the next property I found he didn't hunt and he gave me free reign of his 80 acres. There are 6 permanent stands and 3 ladder stands. On the other 100 we just use climbers. Both my sons have learned to hunt. My old friends from Greece come out and we have a ball. My wife cooks huge breakfasts and people camp in the yard. I work road construction so I am used to driving. I get laid off Nov 1 every year. This is perfect for us.
  21. Big Donkey.bmp8N Bowhunted all season 3 Doe and a 7 PT. Saturday for opening Gun.Took a nice Doe. saw 9 Doe and a spike. Alot of shooting. I don't understand how anyone can shoot 5 times at one Deer. Either they are terrible shots or they are shooting at running Deer. Either way yhey make us all look like idiots.
  22. Whenever i am in a blind I dress all in black. I even found a black mesh face mask. I always make everything inside black( walls and cieling) My new Bow is also black. They truly can't see you.
  23. Not mecnanical. A Slick Trick Viper Trick.125gr
