  1.  doc show me anywhere where its legal to set any kinda of trap like a nail board, cause if that's legal why stop with nail boards, how about punji pits, maybe a few doors covered by a shotgun that fires when the door opens

Then I suppose a trip wire detonated Claymore is out ... ???

  2. Other than dealing with rain / snow on the lenses hunting with glasses has never bothered me. I do like the lenses that darken up as the sun gets brighter (photogrey ?). Lasik is probably the ultimate solution, I'm just a little afraid of any sort of eyeball procedure.

  3. While waiting for an AC repair at my local garage 3 college age kids, w/ Virginia plates on thier car came in. They explained to the owner that they had accidentily pumped diesel into their gas operated car. The owner questioned them as to if they were sure they had as they had driven the car from the gas station across the street with no problems, they insisted that yes they had put diesel in. While one kid was going thru all this another was on his phone with his Dad back in Va explaining what had happned, did'nt seem like a fun conversation. Thee owner had a mechanic put the car up on a lift and start to see what it would take to pull the tank for flushing. Meanwhile the kids are now doubting themselfs and looking for thier reciept. Owner cots to question kids, mentions different size nozzle ect. Finally kids all troop off back to gas station to see if they could remember which pump they used. As they return they announce that nope it was gas after all ! The car comes down and off they go, it was an intersting side show while waiting for my repair to finish up. I'll bet the Dad back in Va was happy that he did'nt have to extend the credit limit on the kids card.

  4. Paula, Unless there's a wreck or severe weather you should have no slow downs at all. Takes me 30 min to drive from exit 57 to 50 each morning. Traffic seems to flow well in either direction. With college out now there's less traffic.

  5. 2004 Chrysler Pacifica AWD w/ 151,000 mi on it. Has had mult deer on the roof rack and tows my aluminum fishing boat just fine. When she finally does go I'm looking at a Nissan Frontier / Suzuki Equator (which I never knew existed until I saw one on the Thruway a week or so ago). Also like the idea of the Ford Explore Sport Track, 4 doors and a small bed.

  6. Heard an interview this morning with an apartment tenant who awoke to the sound of gunfire, looked out his window , and watched the two terrorists exchange gunfire with police. All I could think was "if only he was a hunter" or any type of gun owner for that matter

  7. mine includes band aids, 4x4 gauze, a roll of kerlix bandage material, swiss army knife, tylenol, a day supply of my meds, hard candy, and prob other junk I can't recall right now, oh yeah, tp !!!!  If you are concerned about cardiac issues perhaps consider baby asprin and sl nitro.

  8. Lots of good points and thought provoking issues. Life for now dictates I cont to hunt the state land , and I have found that after opening week of gun season I can have alot of land all to myself. Yes all traces of normalcy have vanished from the deers routine by then but somehow I still manage to see deer each year and even occasionally kill one. The points made on leasing really open my eyes to that option. Thanks for the thoughts.

  9. So as a state land hunter I'm allways dreaming about having my own land and camp, until I read about trespassers, neighbor fueds , taxs, maintienance etc... I have no expierience with leasing so I really don't know any of the ups and downs of that approach. So you folks tell me, or each other , whats the best way, own, lease, or state.
