  1. This money is going to counties upstate and not to NYC. Critics are not happy about who's getting it though. NY State taxpayers are paying huge costs for Cuomo's anti-gun agenda. Money like this is spent, a lot of abuse occurs, lawsuits are filed, court costs are incurred by the state and taxpayers pick up the whole tab for NY State in every single case. Meanwhile crime is unaffected. Money well spent? I think not. It's damn the taxpayer, full steam ahead! http://www.guns.com/2015/05/27/cuomo-announces-13-million-in-grants-to-fight-gun-violence/
  2. Wow, tortured thinking of the worst sort. Here's how abortion perfectly illustrates government regulation. Abortion was legalized by the left on the fallacy it would save women's lives by creating a regulated environment for it to be done "safely". It was really done to get the women's vote. It legalized killing unborn children for votes. Since then, the demands to regulate it from the right have focused on the unborn. It is highly regulated from both sides, which is what happens whenever the government gets involved in anything. Gun control laws don't prevent violence at all. That's not why they are pushed by government regulators. They offer control through regulation. An abortion ban will not prevent illegal abortions. Abortion is a violent deadly assault on the unborn. Making abortion legal is tantamount to making gun violence legal. Regulation isn't about safety. It's about power, control and votes! That is why less regulation, leaving only those that are effective and positive for the society, should be the goal of all free citizens.
  3. Didn't they legalize abortion so they could regulate it and eliminate back alley abortions with coat hangers? If it wasn't regulated now, would it be safe for women to get one? How about the internet? Should it be regulated?
  4. And I was simply stating to Lawdwaz that it was I who was simply smart enough to use Google, after he said I nailed the answer to the question from Belo. I'm not sure why you quoted me in that post.
  5. Elmo, that was a reply to Lawdwaz. I'm sure Born is very proud of where he comes from, as he should be.
  6. Give it more time junkie. Keep thinking about it and maybe the light will finally go on.
  7. Smart enough to know how to use Google.
  8. So oil prices are low, fuel prices are low, the taxes the government is collecting on fuels are low now also. Suddenly there is a rash of oil spills from pipelines and trains, and the fines are low. Plus the cost of the cleanup is shifted to taxpayers. Go figure.
  9. Funny how these spills, oil train wrecks and oil pipeline problems increase in frequency when the price of oil is low and storage facilities are full. They hardly ever happen when oil prices are at all time highs. How is that not a strange coincidence?
  10. Head shot on a turkey would be a bad choice. It's small, moves too much and too quickly. Where hunting turkey with a rifle is legal, the base of the neck right between the shoulders is the preferred shot. It doesn't move nearly as much and the shot breaks the spine.

Papist, I believe there are more than one, but let's keep this thread on subject, OK?
  12. Geechee is another term for the Gullah people who live in the low country region of South Carolina and Georgia including both the coastal plain and the Sea Islands.
  13. It's been a month and my PM has still not been opened. Weird.

Grampy, you don't get into an illegal MC or gang without proving you are willing to take care of business when told to do so. If you knew they sold drugs, stole guns, stole other's cycles for parts, or killed someone, would you still be their friend? If you did start asking questions, they would've seen you as a threat and you wouldn't see them being so nice any more either. I think you didn't ask any questions, because you knew these answers.

It doesn't go against anything Grow. If you are a criminal, or part of a criminal gang, I support taking you out and always have! I do not support crime. I support freedom, but only if it is within the law. A motorcycle "club" is not necessarily a motorcycle "gang". However, if the law determines you are an Illegal gang that's engaged in organized crime, you should be labelled as such and outlawed. And that means any type of gang. Bloods, Crips, MS13, Hell's Angels, Breed, Outlaws and Pagans, etc. They are all illegal gangs. Nothing wrong with the Blue Knights, Nam Knights, etc., and I'm not saying there should be.

Prior to Grow's post above : Well, there's two posts that certainly add to the intelligence of this thread. Two guys who complain the most about the content of other threads too.

How about we just outlaw gangs altogether? You belong to a gang? You can be shot on sight. Nothing about membership in any type of outlaw gang is good for society. It's organized crime on the Neanderthal level.
  19. We need more stringent enforcement, but less regulation. Why exactly are environmental catastrophes not properly cleaned up? How is it the total cost of a clean up isn't charged? The regulations are there, but the fines are not. Those who do things right are paying the enormous costs of operating under government regulation, while those who pollute are not being charged for it. I suggest we have fewer business killing regulations and simply charge the real costs of a clean up to those who create pollution. A good analogy is gun control. Stop creating a gun hating culture moving towards total removal of gun rights and start holding those who use a gun for evil purposes completely responsible for their actions with a gun. You murder someone with a gun, you get executed. You rob a store, you go to prison for a long time because you used a gun. You're a convict in possession of a gun, you go to prison for at least 10 years. You are caught in possession of a stolen gun or get caught stealing a gun, you get jailed for 10 years. Currently these types of penalties are not handed down and should be. Instead, all gun owners are blamed. That's purely a political M.O., nothing less. Polluters should also be held adequately liable for pollution, but they aren't. Instead we engage in collectivist thinking and demonize all business as bad. The only logical reason for that type of thinking is full control of all business, whether they do it right or not. That's anti-capitalism. There is no other name for it.
  20. Seems to me the issue highlights the lack of effectiveness of the costly regulations. With all of your beloved regulation in effect, how is it that something like this can possibly happen? Perhaps you should investigate the relationship between the regulators and the "regulatees". You may find more evidence of government's lack of concern for the safety they want you to believe they provide for you. There are also many laws against bribery and corruption, but there are many instances of it regarding energy regulation, to put it far above the national average as well. Perhaps the evil you see in businesses is not all the evil there is. Meanwhile, businesses that religiously adhere to all the strict regulation, having spotless safety records, go bankrupt.
  21. Once again, issues with reading comprehension. If you see your neighbor is beating his wife and you call the police to report it, do you expect them to say they cannot investigate based on your call? Regarding Islamberg, there is enough evidence to warrant an investigation. A single call from a sissy neighbor claiming you have an AR in your house will have a SWAT team at your door rather quickly. It's a favorite chant of the left to be able to call the police and report on fellow citizens, and they seem to relish doing it, as often as they can, on neighbors they have political objections to, like gun owners. Don't tag me, or blame me for it.
  22. I don't need to call him. I'll ask him about this when I see him. I'm sure he'll be quite amused. BTW, I have great respect for the man and his strong opposition to the SAFE Act.
